Who the resident expert(s) on kit corrections?

I dunno who the kit ninjas are, but maybe that kit worked in other versions. The walkthrough describes the kit's pros/cons, but I think that may have been the non-weidu version.

Yes, it worked without glitches in earlier versions, but still, it was a pain in the arse in the first ones. (i remember CB talking about the matter, he even removed the kit from the game for a long time, and i think KD reintroduced it afterwards; you can confirm the latter by taking a look at the readme changelog)

KD should be the man, but he seems partially or fully retired from modding. Kit ninjas? Hmm, just knock at the door of the major SoS fan you can think of, if any :S Or you could go through the code yourself, of course :D

After I installed Shadows over Soubar, the character voices are no long there, and when I click a menu button there is no sound either. When creating a character I cannot hear any of the voices when I select one and hit play and characters voices no longer play in the game. It didn't do this until I installed SoS, please help!

During the installation:

[SOS/BAF/CBBANDED.BAF] PARSE ERROR at line 8 column 45-45
Near Text: )
[StateCheck] argument [STATE_NORMAL] not found in [State.IDS]

I've checked my STATE.IDS - the state is present there.
Checked the script CBBANDED.BAF. It appears that it cannot be compiled until the /*....*/ block is deleted.

Check the issue please.

Hello,

In fact the problem come form STATE.IDS. This IDS don't start with CR+LF before the first item (STATE_NORMAL). So to corretc it Install all your before SOS Mod after export STATE.IDS with NearInfinityBeta.jar, next edit it and add an CR+LF at the top. To finish put it in the "...\SOS\RULE\".

If you have only BG2 FixPack before SOS you could use my STATE.IDS.

See you next :)

Thanks to Turambar for the bug/crash fix with Fence description. All descriptions should be no greater than 4000 characters or there is a crash. The translation string is file is @20802 in setup.tra in the SOS\language folder.

Fence kit revised Spanish Translation courtesy of Ancalagon el Negro.

~PERISTA:

@20802 = ~СКУПЩИК:

Thanks Prowler!

But there is a problem. I cannot get what you posted to look like that in the text editor I am using. Do I need a certain setting otherwise it looks like

??????????????

through the entire text?

I tried with Notepad and Context editors. The easiest way for me is if you attach it in a .tra format like you did with my TDD requests. Then I can add it to the main file.

EDIT: Duh... I found out how and saved it as UNICODE format with Notepad. It looks exactly like you posted.

Yeah it's cool ^_^ The tra files don't have to be in UNICODE but in order for me to copy/paste your Russian text from your post, I had to save it in Notepad with UNICODE format. Probably because I was copying from a webpage so it has different coding or something. That is why it didn't convert as you had written it but I know how to do it now. :)

The italian translation is almost ready. But there's one thing I wanted to ask:

The description says, they can use any weapon.
They can gain proficiencies in any weapon, but can only USE the same as the thieves (unless they get the high level ability use any item)

I think it could be useful to write, in ALL languages, "proficiency with weapons: fences can get proficient in any weapon, although they will not be able to use those forbidden to thieves until they reach a high level".

Otherwise, players could misunderstand and give absolutely useless proficiencies to their players.

edit: I've attached the Italian version; 4095 characters.

I've already put it into my dialog.tlk and it works

The ability to use any weapon is different than use any item. I will look into this to try and make it work for weapons. Now you say that the fence can't use certain items in your game but many tables and items could have been changed by other mods. Not positive but I will see what i can do on SoS side. If we need to change it further, than we can.

Glad we got one thing out of the way. :D

Some more info on the fence kit. I guess the fence kit automatically gets UAI at level 16 for the kit so that is where it is.

A compatibility issue can lead to endless spawning of prelate wassalen, if you have CTB installed as well.
Here's a fix for who's already installed SoS; in the same thread, a bit above, there's also a fix-suggestion for the next version

I found a bug in Soubar Barracks. After talking to Major for the first time, putting my equipment to the box and talking to the Major for the second time, Soubar Sergeant was supposed to appear and talk to me, but he doesn't show up - and the Major "has nothing to say to you". I found Sergeant's CLUA code in Near Infinity (CBRTRALT), but when I create him using the console, he doesn't have anything to say... Any ideas how to fix this?
