This voice is simply marvelous.
Here is the link to the mp3 file:
http://www.onlinefiction.net/A memory of youth.mp3 (I suggest cut and paste)
and here is the poem that he is reading.
William Butler Yeats, A Memory Of Youth
The moments passed as at a play;
I had the wisdom love brings forth;
I had my share of mother-wit,
And yet for all that I could say,
And though I had her praise for it,
A cloud blown from the cut-throat North
Suddenly hid Love's moon away.
Believing every word I said,
I praised her body and her mind
Till pride had made her eyes grow bright,
And pleasure made her cheeks grow red,
And vanity her footfall light,
Yet we, for all that praise, could find
Nothing but darkness overhead.
We sat as silent as a stone,
We knew, though she'd not said a word,
That even the best of love must die,
And had been savagely undone
Were it not that love upon the cry
Of a most ridiculous little bird
Tore from the clouds his marvellous moon.

Any confusion or deliberate equalization of freedom with goodness and excellence is in itself negation of freedom, and acceptance of the path of restraint and enforcement.

Curses, I'll never again think the same way about McDonalds! That voice... *swoon*
Of course, all the time I kept seeing this picture of Irenicus in his leather strap outfit, holding McDonalds products and trying to smile (all the time thinking 'damn, gotta pay the rent, and all the bills for the otyugh and the class tubes are due next month'...)

Waveth a tentacle at Lotta. I missed your company. How did you like the original clip though? I have some more /smirk/ In fact there are some that I want to put into the romance part of the mod.

I loved it, of course... that voice gives me shivers. And yes, I can imagine some of those lines could work in the context of the modHi there!

how are you supposed to hear it? Ive tried to access it but all i get is the fanfic pageNo, I am not going to use this particular sound file in the mod, but you may be interested to hear it, to better understand my little obsession with Irenicus.

oh thats ok I was so exicted to hear who would play Jon that I went on a David Warner page and heard his voice Good choice.Ah. I am sorry - I removed it. People were complaining that the quality was awful after the download. I may try to post it again, if I find the way to upload it without corrupting the file.
