Well, male characters have to suffer romances with with 3 women with a terribly flawed personality.Anomen should have been a homosexual romance. The other males in BG2 would have sucked as romances also. Why are women always getting shafted, excuse the pun, when it comes to RPG romances?
What is the saddest thing you have done while playing BG?

Honestly, with the exception of Aerie I think the female romances are okay, though some refinement about choices would be in order, I can't believe Bioware forced me to have a fight with Jaheria, when I had a perfectly good response to her inquisiton, grr!

Another sad thing I did, is I would sometime feel guilty if I ignored Nalia when she asked for my help. And then I felt like I had to take her with me into the keep. (always always always kicked her out of the party 2 seconds after the quest was done though)

Aerie gets annoying, though-not so much her, as the responses available to Charname. It's either super-sweet and supportive to the point of character flaws, or completely mean to her.
Saddest thing I did in the game... one game, I assembled my party, then massacred absolutely everyone in the game. Everyone. I turned the Slums into the world's biggest sculpture exhibition (flesh to stone), reduced the inhabitants of the government district to dust, and summoned a pit fiend in the middle of Waukeen's Promenade... I was playing a really, really vicious wizard who followed Talos that game.

Tempest before the storm, perhaps?
Another sad thing I did, polymorphed Neeber (or was it noober, I forgot), caused all of Trademeet to go hostile with me and basically rained down the hells with the Fire Storm ability (druid) and then released half a dozen demons with multiple demon summoning spells in store.
Ah! Naughty me.
And I was of a good alignment too.

JaheiraYeah I never got that. "Oh my husband just died! I am soo upset and said. oooh <Charname> is looking good today, I am going to go hit on him" is how I felt it was like.
Another sad thing I did, is I would sometime feel guilty if I ignored Nalia when she asked for my help. And then I felt like I had to take her with me into the keep. (always always always kicked her out of the party 2 seconds after the quest was done though)
Ahem. Jaheira...
Now stop that. Many people after losing a loved one move on immediately, or they never fall in love again. To those who take time to move on it seems they move on too quickly, and so they assume that the move-onner never really cared for the deceased. But it's not that. It is how they move on. Are people going to rag this as much when Mazzy's romance is released?
Jaheira ( ) is one of these people.
So what happened when he got to the temple?I was playing a really, really vicious wizard who followed Talos that game.
The saddest thing. Well I finally got back to BG2 again(I think it's been 2-3 years). Save one minor detail. I installed CA, and so I start and I look around and I recognize some people, but for the most their all unfamiliar, and I'm about to cry thinking how I'll never again see Jaheira, or Immy, or Aerie or Minsc, or even Jan, Cernd, and Korgan. And I came this close to getting rid of the whole thing and going through BG2 again, but I so wanted to see these old modules I'd never gotten to try. And all these new NPCs. And now I don't know what to do.

Probably went to have session with that harpy Ada.So what happened when he got to the temple?
Yep, she sure is.Jaheira ( ) is one of these people.
I'm still yet to complete her romance 100% though, I get to damn impatient and almost end up with Viconia instead. Then she dumps me if become a lil too nice so I've started a little more mediatation to be as mutually evil as I can while still playing the nice guy. (just a lil rough around the edges if y'know what I mean. )
Its still strange though, it almost breaks my heart to be cruel. But like my PC's voice set says: "If it must be done".

I kinda cried a little when Xan (the BG2 mod - thanks for writing it, Kulyok, I'd die without it!) died in chapter 6 in the bonded romance path. It's so sad.

But that was something that didn't endear Chloe to me, either.
But back to saddest thing I've done, in the "pathetic" meaning of the word, It was probably consoling back to Athkatla to drop off Jan so I could take Imoen back without leaving him stranded in the labyrinth.

Aww, thank you. I got a little teary-eyed, too.
For Xan, the saddest thing was the lust chamber encounter in Ust Natha. A drow, passing over Player2, a male elven sorcerer with an 18 charisma (romancing Amber), because she had to have Xan was just too much. I deleted that saved game.
That's funny, because this female drow spawns only for both romance paths with a female protagonist. The 'salt' of the encounter is that the drow doesn't just want a male - she notices his attraction to a female, and wants not only to have fun, but to have fun in her way. So, if the party approaches her, she makes a move on Xan.
{I do wonder if your post has something to do with my today's long bug report on the quest you coded.}

I'm not big on NPCs thowing themselves at party-joinables to demonstrate their attractiveness. I've said so elsewhere, before now. This is kind of a personal quirk, though. I don't necessarily think this view is widely held.
Edit: remembered which path protagonist was on - I was going to try for the Valygar friendship, so I was running bonded, not unbonded.

Reminds you to buy and equip Balduran's shield next time. I swear that item really tips the balance on all Beholders, save the Unseeing Eye and Elder Orbs. (Which I presume UE is)The saddest thing I think I've done was to stop playing the game for about a month when Jaheira was petrified by that horrible, horrible Hive Mother in the Underdark. Stupid thing... my sorcerer PC was absolutely crushed... Oh, fine. I was crushed.
Let's see. Not long ago I was playing the Fade mod once again, trapped in Mind Flayer central, and then when walking down one of the corridors on the left wing, the game decides to be cruel as all get out and makes about 5 illithids (3 normal, 2 ultrathids) and a few Umber Hulks suddenly appear right where we are walking.
All my people were in melee range and only two people had resistance as the last lot had expired and I was running out of magic to use and items, plus for some reason the game refused to let me rest.
I managed only to get the PC, Aerie and Minsc out alive, I was playing at the difficulty where I could not bring them back. But I last I remember that randomly spawning enemies right when you're about walk right through them was not listed as one of the rules.
As it was my rommance was literally killed by brain-sucking illithids. Death forced me to break the promise I made back in the cell.
As it was I was so infuriated for the next half hour before I reloaded and started brain head city again, I killed almost everything I saw, including 'innocent merchants'.
That's what you get for messin around with me. The Underdark, now my domain!
