Saddest thing, hmmm... on my (one and only) evil playthrough, I kept Aerie in my party until I could pick up Edwin... at least that was the plan. I was genuinely shocked when Korgan bullied her out of the party. And at the very end of the Edwin romance, when my character became a goddess, Edwin's lines literally made me cry.

And for a while I tried to play in real-time (well, kind of) and only let my party rest 'at the end of the day' and not mid-quest or dungeon, but that didn't last too long.

That doesn't sound sad .Probably when I made an evil party and recruited Anomen purely so that I could make him fail his knighthood test, then mocked and slaughtered him outside the Radiant Heart building, before being on my merry way.

In my mod, after the "Oh no, Anomen fails his Knighthood test and tries to beat Aerie to death" scene (Jailin and Virgil actually get into a fight with Anomen, and Jailin screams at him), Anomen starts yelling at Jai later about how dare she talk to him like he's a child.
She backhands him across the face, tells him that men who act like little boys get treated as such, and Anomen breaks down in tears. It's really vindicating for Jailin, but it makes ME sad every time.

Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen - I have never played the game with these three.
Tried to play evil once, but well, coudn't even get out of the chateau Irenicus without restarting and making a good PC again!
It's just... so heartbreaking to do something bad, even in game.
glad that there are a lot of people like me! I wasn't so wierd!

Playing evil up to chapter 3 before breaking down and starting as good again. Every evil act made me sad.
Getting angry at the graveyard keeper who was threatened not to tell anyone of the bodies and only having three options: Kill him, tell the guards, or make him leave town.. He didnt deserve it.
Having 3 people romance you at once and trying to cancel it.. I have to be nice to all of them!!

The saddest thing for me is that I cannot resist killing Anomen when I see him. When I walk in the Copper Coronet and he starts his speech, it just can't resist that urge. I kill him at least once per game. I even tried creative combo's to kill him instead of whacking him to death.
Poor Anomen, to be resurrected just for to get killed again! (Not!)

Shame the Ring of Regeneration doesn't work like it does in PnP D&D... otherwise you could just strap him under a slow-moving pendulum blade and sit back and watch the fun... again... and again... and again...Poor Anomen, to be resurrected just for to get killed again! (Not!)

yeah, poor Anomen. I don't like him much, but almost everyone to hate him). I guess developers should have made him more attractive. Never played his romance, but if I'm not mistaken, I've read Kevin Dorner's words somewhere, saying Anomen's romance is very good at the end.
Well I've played it many times through and IMHO it isn't that good even at the end, although Anomen is a bit less annoying in ToB portion.
If you want the best out of Anomen romance, heed Menelanna's advice and get Flirt Packs.
