Males or females...? You don't have to say if you don't wish to. :P
I downloaded him out of curiosity.

I am playing 2 games with him one as a female and one as a male to romance him.
I am female btw so I usually play as a female but in this case I like my male pc better! : )

I am male and am playing a male PC with Nathanial. This is my second go 'round with Nathanial, and like with my first, I am having great fun. I think my avatar speaks for me about why I love the Nathanial romance so much. :) But do not let that be taken as a slight on the talent behind the mod itself, if I were heterosexual, I think I would still enjoy the mod very much as it is very well written, very well voice acted and has some very nice and unique content that it adds to the game. :) I cannot wait for the TOB portion to be released.

Yup, his voice acting suits him very well. It was an interesting and a lillo weird idea, making him, but original. I started with a female character, but looked at his dialogues from NearInfinity and heard his lovetalk lines.

Yes, very original. I would just about die of happiness if more same sex options would come. They wouldn't even have to be totally gay, but maybe some more bisexuals, like Sola. We gay gamers or "gaymers" as some choose to say (but I would die first before I called myself that lol), have a lucrative void that is just waiting to be filled. Perhaps one day it will be. Mods like Nathaniel, Solaufein and Chloe are a good start, I think that game devs see this and it influences them. There are a small amount available for Morrowind as well. These mods have spoiled me, though, I must say, because now I find it annoying that there is such a lack of this sort of thing. lol I used to not care as much. lol

Problem is that something of that nature would have to have the writer take care while writing, otherwise the mod could be viewed as being that sort of mod for pure shock factor, which unfortunately, can happen.

I don't think people feel that Nathaniel was created for purely shock value, but I guess I can see how that might happen. However, new things always meet some resistence at first. Based on the banner for the Auren Aseph mod I see in your post, I suspect that you make your observation from experience, which is sad. I hope people haven't been rude to you.

I myself do not have much of a "type" when I play roleplaying games, as I do not always play "myself". I have played heterosexual males, heterosexual females, gay males, gay females. I have been strong characters, I have been needy characters, etc. I just enjoy any well written mod, I think. But I do admit that it IS a lot of fun to every now and again, play someone that is more like I am in real life when it comes to romance options and such, and this is one of the reasons I love Nathaniel so muh and would really love to see more content like this.

Gay male here. I first downloaded an installed Nat some time last year, but I was at that point about half-way through a SOA game, so I only recently did the full mod. It's very good; the amount of work which has gone into it is impressive. Roll on the TOB portion.

Bi female player, and I usually take Nathaniel along with a female character because I can't fix the stutter bug for his romance, because my computer thinks I don't have the authority to alter that file... All the same, my female PC thinks he's a dear and a very good friend. I love the fact that I can talk to him even if I'm not romancing him. Makes him that much more enjoyable
Complex is the art of Technical Wild Magery, as you have to be able to do exactly what someone else does, and come up with WILDLY different results. For example, a Technical Mage can download the program to run a .rar file and have it work fine, whereas a Technical Wild Mage can download the same program and have their computer blow up. If ever you require tutoring in the art of Technical Wild Magery, I am available at virtually all hours.

Female here, and a total slasher at that.

It's actually been a while since I've played BG and the last time I did it was because I found out Solaufein allowed M/M for a romance.

I actually found a few points in the Sola romance LULZ-worthy because some of the lines I ran across really sounded like they had been written with a female PC in mind and didn't quite fit my mental image for my PC. I am hoping with Nathaniel that such incidences won't happen, since it has been written as deliberately M/M - not an incidental allowance.

Anyway, the game I've just started is male PC, Merric Thorn, half-elf, fighter, Chaotic Good, portrait is the new CGI model of Kain Highwind. I'll be very interested to see how it develops! ^_^

Straight male here, who's having a blast playing the Nathaniel romance. (I mean - I don't see what's the point of role playing if I'm not playing a character that's very different than myself. The whole point of role playing to me is to pick a crazy-enough-to-work character idea on a whim and run with it. I'll play any race, gender, sexuality, and deposition in P&P.)

I do have to say that I haven't laughed this hard playing a mod since "Getting Rid of Anomen" the bard competition in "Keto", and "Edwin romance". It's refreshing to play a mod that takes itself seriously, but not too seriously.

He's a "real" character, and that's very refreshing; we're not dealing with planewalkers, demonblooded thieves, another basted elf, or "please, no more sorcerers/mages" here - just a skilled but normal human adventurer with strengths and glaring flaws of their own.

I'll anxiously await the ToB release, but I do hope it's soon. As much as I love Saerileth and her Paladin-ey-goodness, I wish there were more fish of quality in the sea when I play male characters. :(

I havent had a chance to play him yet but im looking forward to it. Prior to this discovery, i played a female character with a male portrait for novelty, and romanced Anomen. cept it kinda broke the fantasy with my character having boobs and being referred to as "she" (because thats wat it really was.)

There arent enough quality gay/bi/lesbian characters in games at present. Hopefully that wil change.

I am. I've been playing with him for quite some time. I'm female and was looking for a good romance for my male characters that wasn't a whining, wingless avariel, a woman supposedly devoted to her late husband who was barely cold in his grave (in a manner of speaking), or an evil Drow, not that I have anything against Viconia. To begin with, without properly reading the readme file, I started a file with a female character, but, after not getting any romance options, properly read he readme file and spent the next ten or twenty minutes coming up with the perfect male to romance him. I even told a fellow female gamer about him, since she was looking for new mods and had been out of touch with the modding communities for a while. I told her he was male romanceable only, knowing she usually plays with female characters. Her reaction was an excited squeal and a demand for the link so she could check him out. Barely two minutes later, she was downloading him and working on a male character to romance him. After giving her a few days to play with him, I asked her what she thought, and she said he was darling.
