Guidelines and Rules for the Screen Shot Section

Welcome! We encourage people's feedback about posted screenshots. However, any criticism of presented screenies, character ideas, stories, etc., should be very specific and constructive. This kind of criticism is a great way for us to learn and improve our skills.
NO criticism should be directed at the PERSON - only at his or her WORK.
Also, whatever criticism is presented, it should NOT be negative in general terms - such as, "That screenie is really lame." This type of non-specific criticism only insults and does not provide any help whatsoever. Or even worse, this kind of criticism: "You are a silly man with a silly idea." If you really must say something negative to someone outside of this simple "code", keep it off the comment threads!
Also, some posts can be too vague and subject to interpretation - so please word your posts very clearly to avoid any misunderstandings, especially if they are critical in nature.
Regarding receiving comments or not receiving comments to your post:
Comments are hit or miss on this very fast moving thread. This thread moves so FAST that it is hard for lots of us to comment on peeps' screenies. So many, if not most screenies may appear to go unnoticed, because no comments occur. I am sure many of us have worked hard on something, and it appears to just fly by the pages, because of this very popular thread. Many of us try to take time to comment because it is fun to give others feedback and generally seems appreciated. But often no one does. If you really feel like it always happens that your post is ignored, ask a question about it. Whenever you directly ask about something, it is almost always answered by someone. Or even repost it - and point something out about it that you like or want feedback on.
And the best way to get comments? Positively, constructively/specifically comment on others work too!
Now on to the rules:
1. Comments: Please keep all comments in the Comment thread that is associated with the current Screenshot thread. This helps keep the Screenshot thread from getting cluttered and gives everyone's screenies an equal chance to be viewed without getting lost in a sea of text.
2. Nudity: If your screenshot contains any nudity (defined as genitalia and female nipples) do not post it (via an image tag) directly in the thread. Only post such nudity in a link with a clearly labeled warning. If you see a nude shot directly on the thread and/or not properly labeled, please let one of the section moderators know. Even though many of us are not offended by nudity, most of us seem to agree that it is in better taste, and more considerate of others, to link to a properly labeled nude post.
3. Off-topicness: Please keep all political and religious talk out of the Comments threads. There is a lounge area on the Forum for such discussions. Other than those two topics, "off-topicness" is alright, but please try not to have page long off-topic discussions. Again there is a lounge area for that.
4. No offensive comments about others' posts: If you find a post really offensive, REPORT IT AND IGNORE IT! The moderators know how to quickly deal with any such situation, and will remove any offensive posts, if they are actually offensive. Arguing or making demands regarding the post, invariably ends up worsening the situation.

Meant to post yesterday that the archives were working for me, forgot.
Slightly off-topic: I noticed on the main board stories section there's the story's thread & then a "Comments for ...." thread. I personally would prefer that here. Any thoughts? Should I post that question in the "Rules" thread instead?
edit: just to clarify, for others reading this thought, my thing about the stories/comments being separate threads is that I'm looking forward to reading the stories basically straight through. It'd be easier without comments interspersed. I also know that I, and therefore I think perhaps others, would comment more in separate threads, as we wouldn't feel we'd be interrupting the storyline.

Greatfool1 did some editing on the rules part to make it worded better. Also the top part is a little edit of of the old thread starter Greatfool1 didI think the rules look perfect - clearly stated, nicely worded. Great job. Meant to post yesterday that the archives were working for me, forgot.

The comment thread for the story threads is ok with me I guess we just need to see what others think.

I've got about all I the responsibility for choices with the UESP thing. It's not that big a deal.
Perhaps we should encourage ongoing discussion in the "rules" or in this thread, or just in the comments thread, about how people think the new system's working. Or, just do another poll in a few weeks. That'd probably be easier & simpler. Okay - my posts in this thread do not exist! Ignore me!
