I've been playing around with my Grocax the Arch-Magus, trying to create a fast-moving levitation spell that would have the Flame Atronach burning effect with on/off switch, but can't seem to find a way to do this as a lesser power/spell. If I just got this one thing done, my race would be completed and those little fire casters can finally be released.

If anyone knows about on/off and levitation spells, help would be appreciated.

Which part are you having trouble with - the levitation or the on/off toggle?

I don't know anything about scripting, but just to make sure: Do you have OBSE? (PLease don't flame me for this)

I've successfully used the nighteye toggle script from <can't remember the mod author's name & I'm at work> on waldelf's levitation spell - but that levitation spell's kinda - iffy. I was just looking at Supreme Magicka, and it lists fully-collisioned levitation spells as one of its features, you might want to look at that.

For on/off toggle: grab a toggled spell mod from tessource to use that script or script yourself - I know spike's using a toggle script on the detect life for his luna race, so maybe he could offer help. First you need the spell you want to toggle made as an *ability*. Then make a second spell as a lesser power that is a scripted effect, and for the script use the toggle script. The lesser power is the spell you add to your character.

Thank you for the replies. I didn't even notice there were some, just 'Replies:--' and 'Views:--', because it was moved without my noticing.

And since I know nothing about scripting and only coding experience I have is HTML from like 7 years ago, my brain isn't catching up too well, but if I find mods with on/off toggle and the levitation spell and stare at the scripts for a while, I'm sure I could at least make one comprehensible, but not neccesarily working script. I will look around and see what I can do.

And as for making an ability and using the ablity in the lesser power, I never thought about that, as I only saw similar things in a couple of enchanted items and some Midas Magic spells. Never really understood why people would even do it that way, but I guess it has it's uses.

I can point you to an on/off toggle easy enough - check my Tabaxi mod. It's how I did their night eye power. ;)
