Additional mods after game start

Anyway, got to give someone the heave-ho, and Kachiko, now that TS is finished, is my first choice. Don't need her, since PC is a Fighter/Mage anyway. Unfortunately, Yoshima leaves with her, and I do need a thief. Amber would be my choice IIRC. Can I install her at this point without causing death by bunga-bunga to my game?
If so, how? Got the usual: TDD, TS, SoS, and BP to make them get along.
Thoughts, comments, casual insults all welcome. Though I guess the main question is an old one. Perhaps the 7th party member question will make this thread worth reading

Kummalliset kalat liukuvat syvyydessä,
tuntemattomat kukat loistavat rannalla;
olen nähnyt punaista ja keltaista ja kaikki toiset värit -
mutta ihana meri on vaarallista nähdä,
se herättää tulevien seikkailujen janon:
mitä on tapahtunut sadussa, on tapahtuva minullekin.

In the absence of brilliant advice from wiser heads, I'm going to try it.
BTW, how is 6 party members "hard coded?" What language is the engine written in?
Is it illegal/stoopid/blasphemous to talk of fooling with it?
Oh yeah... no source code. It would be nice if someone would make that public domain, wouldn't it?

Folks, if you didn't try the link Chevalier was good enough to put in a few posts back, it points to a project at Gibberlings 3 where a programmer with the handle Avenger is writing a program called GemRB, which will replace the Infinity Engine, or Baldur.EXE in all the infinity engine series games. So you could use that engine, import all the game information from any of those games, or all of them simultaneously, and play with that. Big deal, you might say, but a lot of the shortcomings of the game (DC ducks, just in case of lightning bolts from on high, punishing blasphemy) are hard coded and can't be changed. Things like maximum party size, and loads of others. It will give modders enormous scope to work with.

Right away she has a couple of oneliners, upset at your carousing with Phaere in Ust Natha probably.
Sometimes she has the floating text above her head that says stuff like- "core rules", "missile weapon", and "melee weapon". But it doesn't seem to affect gameplay.
Also added Tower of Deception - no ill effects and mod was short and sweet. It has its own new area so nothing else was affected.

Do mean that you got strange or out of place dialogue from her? (Like that Amber nagged about Pheare even though she wasn't in the party in the Underdark or something like that?) If so, do you remember what she said?Right away she has a couple of oneliners, upset at your carousing with Phaere in Ust Natha probably.

You have party AI on, right? Are you currently using the combat AI script that originaly came with Amber mod or some other script?

First she said something like "I can't believe you. I thought you had higher standards. Don't talk to me now."
Then something like "you had a bad dream last night, you might wake everyone, what was wrong, etc."
Yes the party AI is on. I think it is her original script as I didn't change anything with her.
Also everything else went smoothly - quests (including slaver) and romance/friendship is progressing (though she seemed a bit testy/irritated for a while). The only thing I skipped was her missing bracelet which she did herself (as I had already taken care of the shadow thieves working for Bohdi in CH3).

I'll look into the AI floating text messages as well. As you suspected they're quite harmless.
