Nice work, I especially like the red one (3), I don't know about others here but I'm not really clued in on the whole graphic design world...so:

Can you tell us a bit about what you've done with each image, where you started, with what, using what and it's evolution?

That might be a bit of a tall order for one post so feel free to take your time replying, no rush! :)

Yes there is always time for beer!

Thanks everyone.

Well the first on the blue orb logo was just a flash of insperation I got while sitting down watching Naruto.

The second was a sig i made to fit thew Flamedramon render I found on the net.

The third was just one I made while I was in a sort of depressed mood which is why it ius a sort of random one.

The forth was one I got from looking at a blue pen I had in my hand ( a bit weird i know)

The final one was my outcome for a sig tut I found on Pixel2life.

And beer.................................Beer is one of natures more finesse delights. :)

These are fantastic logos and designs! I admit that playing around with Pixel2Life's tutorials is a lot of fun, and I have killed time with them too. :D

You have great sense of style and an eye for shapes and colors. Wow!

All right here we go, the line that go across the whole picture are bad, of course they might belong to the style, but for me, that's a bad excuse to blur out the important graffics(for technology under them). It seems fascinating, but as I can't see it all...

I have never really understood the idea behind having an image signature like this, but as far as they go, the one you posted is pretty good.

I'd say that it might be a bit too crowded with stuff, though - artistic creations isn't always about trying to squeeze in as much as possible in as little space as possible.

The color scheme is overall very nice, and you certainly manage to convey a tech-y/gfx-y feeling. I like it. :)

I'd rather comment on the stuff in your other thread, but you never answered the question I asked there about whether you wanted constructive criticism...

Merged topics to keep things nice and arranged. :)

I sort of agree with SConrad - the signature does have a cool tech-vibe to it, and I think the colors are stylish. The image itself is a bit too crowded and it's difficult to say what exactly it is in the picture.

Alright, here's some constructive criticism from me. :)

I'm fully aware that you might not intend to use any of this commercially, but I'll treat it as if it was the work of one of my students.

1) Posted Image

I really like the blue spiral sphere (Rasengan ftw!), but somehow, I don't feel as if the typeface is really matching the orb. Although there are some similarities between the orb and the font, I would expect something with less flourish. I would recommend a more modern font, one that is very simple yet stylistic. Sans-serif, I think, would be more suitable. I think you should continue using small-caps. The text has a good size in relation to the orb. :)

For being a logo, it also feels as if you have a little too much space between the orb and the text. It'd be even nicer to see variations of this, like having the orb and text side-by-side instead of the text under the orb. That way, your potential client could use the different variations on different things - business cards, websites, signs, prints, etc. might not always require the exact same logo, as long as the overall theme (the orb and the text). Experiment by moving things around!

I'd also be interested in seeing how well it does on a non-white background. Especially for graphics intended to be viewed on a computer screen (such as websites), pure white is not recommened since it potentially blends the viewer's eyes. You can use a very light shade of gray to negate that effect. And also - again seeing it from a prospective client's point of view - backgrounds are important as you can't always decide what background you have. With the shadow the orb casts, it'd be difficult to put the logo on a darker grey background, or even a color such as red or yellow.

Overall, I like it a lot!

2) Posted Image

As mentioned before, I don't really understand the point of signature images like this.

In any case, it's a very nice image. It's not as confusing as the other one I commented on previously. The main problem I have is again typography. The font is very small and difficult to read, and the large K and F are noticably not of the same font as the other text. Mixing serifs and sans-serifs like this gives me a very mixed impression, and it sticks out a lot.

Typography in itself is a science, and very difficult to learn properly. But it's also tremendously important.

3) Posted Image

This is probably the image of yours I like the best. It's very abstract, and would do very well as a cover for a CD (a band like Linkin Park comes to mind) or possibly a book.

I would comment on the white background if it had been something intended for a computer screen, but I definitely see it more as a print-type of thing (the barcode definitely indicates that, at least), in which case the white background doesn't have any negative influences.

Is the original version larger? I can't tell for sure if you're supposed to be able to read the upper-right text in the original size or not.

4) Posted Image

I would guess that this one predates a couple of the other images - especially 1 and 3. This is probably the image of the first five I like the least, which doesn't mean that I don't like it. I just like the others better. ;)

To be perfectly honest, I've seen this kind of image/banner/logo/etc many, many times. It provides little originality, and the whole style (in my eyes) dates back a number of years. You can do much better, which you've proved. :)

On the other hand, the typography usage is better than the other images. The font and the graphics around the text work in harmony with each other. Well done!

5) Posted Image

Same initial remarks as #2.

Here, you have again a good usage of typography (although it's the same from the image before). The background might be a bit too complicated, and especially the stuff to the bottom right really diverts the attention from the Spiderman. I have a hard time distinguishing background from Spiderman at a first glance, and have to focus to make it our properly.

I really, really like the light "spots" to the right of the text.

Posted Image

Personally, this did not appeal to me. It looks more like random stuff put together, and it lacks some sort of connection between the various elements of the image. I don't understand how the "Parental Advisory" sign fits. Did you have a clear image of what you wanted to portray or accomplish with it when creating it?

I hope you find this helpful!

I have to say - I really, really like the 'Tribal Design' logo. And I thought the abstract red one was professionally done - brilliant. :D
