I installed the latest version along with a few other mods I got at the same time, activated them and fired her up. The other mods worked fine, but yours said something along the lines of 'Cannot compute' and switched to version 1.56 automatically, which gave me purple bubbles popping up, but no other issues. Though my current bounty (2080) did disappear, but I figured that was normal. What can I do since the latest version just.. won't work

Don't know how to edit on here, so please excuse the doubling up and delete last post if you want. I couldn't remember the exact words, but I just tested again and the actual message was 'Resetting abilities. Version Mismatch. Initializing version 1.52'

Hate to tell you this, Daiyuki, but that is definitely not from my mod. There is only one way that a messagebox would appear from RGO: if you downgraded from 1.65 or whatever to any other version. Then a messagebox would pop up. Otherwise, no messageboxes should appear unless you equip the Guard Overhaul Configuration Ring.

In regards to the purple stuff: Equip the Guard Overhaul Configuration Ring, and then exit your inventory. A messagebox should appear, and then click on 'Spell Compatibility Settings.' Go through that list until the purple bubbles go away.

Note, however, that the purple bubbles are not always caused by RGO alone!

Bug??? Trying in a sec to reopen config menu with newest version (165a), but guards don't act on a crime they see. i.e. i pickpocket a NPC and a guard stands right next to this. bounty goes up 5. infamy goes up 1. nobody does anything. nobody says anything. (it's just that i have a plugin which shows me the changes in infamy and bounty or i wouldn't know anything had changed, thinking the pickpocket was succesfull.

Then, i realy have to speak to guards for them to identify me. I can sleep in their laps. eat from out of their hands. i can poison them with my poisonous apple, just walking in the lions den. whatever i want. they don't recognise me......

Okay, i understand this is all work in progress.. and i'm gonna try that reconfiguration menu.. but what the hell are guards for if this is it, i could jus disable all the guards and be done with it. TOTAL ANARCHY!!!

Well, I used the Configuration Ring, but after changing a few things, each time I clicked any button in it, green invaded more of my screen, but only in the game world, the menu was overtop the green.

My exact clicks were going to Spell Compatibility and clicking the Mehrunes Dagon custom effects, which shouldn't have any immediate effects seems to me, then I got sidetracked and changed the remembered time for murder to 18 days, went back to the main part of the menu and an explosion of green started when I went back to the Spell Compatibility tab.

I finally just turned the mod off and the Menu finally disappeared, as I had clicked on Done about 4 times and the only thing that happened was more green, then said explosion just receded and I quit the game.

The guards viewing distance what is it for? For seeing a crime happen??? Or recognising you as a wanted criminal? Guess the first. Couldn't you just create a 2nd distance... depending on bounty? so that guards actually recognise you without you talking to them? or whatever... just so they "can" recognise you.... i know i know. i want to kill all the guards if they see me commit a crime. yes, but sometimes for reality sakes i want to have a hard time avoiding the guards.

sorry for spamming..... but an idea.. a distance to the guards for recognition sounds so dull. you enter it's proximity and get chased. But what about a timer counting down, when you're in their proximity, and the closer you are, the faster the timer hits zero. zero being the "recognised as wanted criminal". the bigger the bounty, the farther the recognition distance.

To fix this bug you need to open up the Configuration Menu and reset RGO's settings. There is a button to do just that. Then the Guards will work again.

Use the Bound Armor Visuals, not the Mehrunes Dagon visuals.

If you get caught by a guard, resist arrest, and run from that guard, then later on that guard sees you, he will try to arrest you again.

Playing with an alternative start mod (by postaldude) and it seems your mod don't startup until your in the dungeon with the emperor - have you moved an activation quest there? Tried starting and stopping from the ring menu. I'll check in the CS and see if I find something that I can startup ingame with startquest command.

This is an essential mod, glad you are still improving it. Cheers!

The mod doesn't 'enable' itself until the CharacterGen quest has completed stage 88. This is done to avoid problems that RGO causes during the tutorial dungeon. If I get time I'll see if I can't figure out a workaround for alternate-start mods (though it could also be a bug in the alternate-start mod that doesn't change the CharacterGen stage.)

I set it to start at quest lv 5 so now it is ticking along. I guess you could just add a option in the configuration menu that changes the startup and warn of the dangers with the mq starting tutorials and PC generation.

Glad to hear you found a solution for the problem. I'll add in an option into the Configuration Menu during the next release.

Question.. What does the pay your fines with the doyen script do after RGO? Does it sum all the bounties over cyrodill and give the option to pay them all? Or does it just give the option to pay "local" bounties? Why do i ask?? Because i had a bounty of 2000 in cheydinhall, when i tried to steal ulrich leylands letter, then i got busted and payed because you can't finish the quest with a bounty. then i got out of jail and got arrested immediatly after, and again and again and again. jail didn't drop the bounty. then i had the problem that i had only saves after i got that bounty. so i searched to get rid of the bounty, and armand christoff in the waterfront just doesn't kill the cheydinhall bounty. so i restarted the entire game... but still.... what do the doyens scripts of paying the fines do?

What version of RGO are you running? Were you trying to complete a certain quest?

i was running 1.62. "WAS"! I upgraded tot 1.65a. i don't know if it was a bug in RGO, tho it should have been, since it was loaded last. I just did the quest for getting ulrich leyland into jail, visiting aldos athran and getting him killed then visiting the guard inside the cheydinhall castle, and when he tells you to get inside ulrichs room and find some evidence, ulrich woke up and caught me.. so if you want to try and recreate the bug, go ahead.. it was quest related to ulrich leyland the cheydinhall guard.

still my question wasn't about that bug. it was about what the doyens do with me trying to pay the fines and using localised bounty system. should i disable local bounties and then pay the fines?? (i consider that cheating)

No. Currently the doyens will remove your bounty like normal, which means that it won't work correctly with RGO. I'm going to be releasing a new version that will fix that issue.

Ah, great! I allways run into problems with localised bounties because of this. Hmmmm i'd have other questions. like: If i have a bounty of 500 in one city and a bounty of 900 in another city and i get caught.... will i have to pay 1400? the border is 1000 gold? so your 2nd bounty become 1000 then your posters becomes visible in other cities. Do you have to pay the sum of the fines when getting arrested, because your poster would be available? would you be transferred to serve your sentence in other cities as well?? (then you'd better find a way out - or see that crime does not pay :whistling: )

In short order: No, not sure what you mean, no (only where your bounty is above 1000, not other cities,) no, and no. Interesting ideas, but not yet implemented.

What i mean exactly:

I'm currently being arrested in city a!
My bounty in city a: 2500 gold
My bounty in city b: 3000 gold
My bounty in city c: 2500 gold
My bounty in city d: 200 gold
My bounty in city e: 999 gold
My bounty in city f: 1000 gold

What happens after i get arrested and want to pay up?
What happens after i get arrested and want to serve my time?

my thoughts on question 1: since my posters of a,b,c and f bounty are hangin around -> i have to pay 2500+3000+2500+1000 gold Bounty in city a,b,c and f is gone. bounty of city d and e stays.


Now what happens if i get arrested in city d?

since my posters of a,b,c and f bounty are hangin around -> i have to pay 2500+3000+2500+1000 gold..... But!! I'm currently in a city where my bounty is 200, so these have to be payed also. Bounty in city e stays 999.
