EDIT: however, old/non-shs-posted stuff is fine for reposts, I've not seen a great deal of the stuff you all have done, and I'm sure lots of others haven't, either! =)

That is what I said excactly SeV! So if you have to repost, at least include new screens, then when you start the repost you put the word "repost" before you start the repost. So we know what is old and what is new.

I KNEW I forgot something. Dammit. What's everybody's opinions on reposts? I think it would be silly to repost on a pictures thread that isn't going to be moving very fast in the first place. I really, REAALLY think we can do without reposts. The pictures will awalys be there in the archives if anybody wants to take a look.

I have no problem with other's reposts but if the picture thread is going to be a bit slower paced THEN I understand it.

I don't want to ban people. I don't want to warn people. I don't want to close anything, or tell people to play nice. I know where all coming from an environment where it was them (the mods) versus us (the people). It's not like that here. We (me spike and hector) are nothing more than MEDIATORS. We listen to what you guys have to say, and relay it back to the staff at SHS. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a funny thing about internet message boards. People love to argue and flame each other, but they never argue in PM. Why? Because they rather do it out in the public where everybody can see. "callin out" people of sorts. It's a method of gaining attention. Therefore, if two people decide that they positively hate each other and can't get along, the most "I" will ever do is the same thing you do with any kind of trash: make a new thread out in the middle of nowhere, and politely move their conversation out of the way so people don't have to step over it. There they can solve their differences until their faces turn blue. Without no one around to spectate, however, it quickly seems to dissipate. I'm not saying this because I don't care, I'm saying this because I respect everyone as mature people on the board that can all "self-moderate" like Kalia said without intervention.

I'm only speaking for myself on this, I'm sure Spike and Hec have their own personal moderating philosophies. Apologies if I sound like I'm ranting, and I promise I'm not referring to anyone either. I just felt the need to get that out in the open.

I like Hector's suggestion on the issue of reposts. As for the results of this poll, everything is fine by me (indeed, everything I voted in favor of passed), but when will these changes be made effective?

Probably within the next 24 hours we'll get the new sections. We should allow thread #6 to continue as-is, and then start the new rules with #7. Hopefully we can get a sticky post for the rules hammered out today. Or do we even need that? Would somebody be willing to write a draft rules sticky? I'm not very good at those.... maybe I should ask the staff... I dunno... Me R konfoosed...

When the new thread is started for the screenshots, a new comments thread could be started as well without closing the former picture comments ?

Once a picture thread is closed its comment thread goes with it. The comments can just carry over to the next one like they do now.

SeV re stickies: I think we need an opening post for the comments thread, as we have on the piccies thread - and perhaps that needs to be re-edited? (gasp - I know, that's a *bold* suggestion!). I do think your paragraph there needs to go somewhere, I think it perfectly states a very good philosophy. And I think Yorkmaster's quote from the discussion thread could go in as well, and the "getting comments" part of the piccie thread starting post. There we could also remind folks of the stories section, and the wip/feedback section.

On reposts: I'm fine with Hector's idea, and would also encourage folks to perhaps repost one old piccie in attached form & then link to the old post. And remember, folks - you can use "search" & search by your name, so if the comments thread has sped up to 2 gazillion posts since last you logged on, you can still fairly easily find the comments on your posts!

edited to ask: okay, I'm confused. So screenshot-including stories would belong only in our section, but all-text stories could go in the main part? Or, is it if the screens are in links it can go in the main section, but if the story is in screens it goes here? -- edit - ah, okay, thanks Hector!
