Funny that you were disappointed to see Ilire turning back to Ajantis. I like him a lot, but of course I like Anomen too, so it's not easy to choose which one I should give a "happy ending" to. Of course we've seen a lot more of Anomen than Ajantis in this story, so maybe that's why you wished Ilire to choose Anomen in the end, even though you might like Ajantis otherwise. It's funny too that I actually wrote another story where Ajantis played the nice part... Cosmic justice, I guess :) But this story was about Ilire's indecision and the painful realization that her feelings for her husband have changed... so poor Ajantis!

So new chapter incoming, and thanks for comments :)

Well, I must admit that I never took Ajantis with me in BG1, so I'm not particularly attached to him. However, you've written Anomen very compassionately, and even if I hadn't taken him along with me in BGII and romanced him, I think my sympathies would have lent towards him anyway.

But this story about Ilire's indecision is working wonderfully. Your latest chapter was very sad but very understandable... even though I'm unsure as to the effect Ilire's trip had on Saemon. Were they forced to wait? But yes... the way you covered her emotions and the reactions to her departure and return... highly reflective of all of the characters. And I loved the poetic conclusion of sending Keldorn back to Maria. That worked symbolically on a lot of levels. So again, great work my friend, and I can't wait until the next one! ^_^

Through hell and all above,
Surviving sword and arrow,
Bound stronger by the love

And in the end a witness,
To where the death has lain,
Silent through the sorrow,
Where innocents lie slain

I can't believe I hadn't answered this yet! Sorry!

Oh yeah. Ilire forced Saemon to wait. She just paid him 15 000 gold, didn't she? He damn should wait for a few days. Guess who went to the docks and announced the good news? Personally I'd send Jae. I dare anybody, salty sailor pirate or whoever, to talk back to the druid when she's angry, even if she's not angry AT you. ;)

New chapter incoming :)
"I set on this journey trying to understand why has metal been stereotyped, dismissed, and condemned. My answer is this: if, listening to that music, you don't get that overwhelming rush of power that makes the hair stand at the back of your neck, you may never will. But you know what, it doesn't really matter. Because, judging from the 40 000 people around me, we're doing just fine without ya." :) Cheers! And two horns up for metalheads all around the world!

Hey DalreiDal! Sorry for the delay in reviewing - I've been away for the last week. But imagine my pleasant surprise to come back here and see yet another chapter from you! And a great continuation at that - I liked how Ilire meditated, and the way you explored the unravelling of her feelings. I also especially liked the detail of the trip on Saemon's ship - I've always thought that setting could be a very interesting backdrop to a story, and you played it well here. The part with Jaheira made me smile, as well as the end with Anomen and the comparisons between them. Very beautifully written, and I can't wait but hold my breath in anticipation for what will happen at Spellhold! :D

Hey Shadowhawke!

Thanks a lot for the review :) I kinda need the encouragement to keep going these days. There's so much to do - games to play, tv shows to watch, stories to read, birds to see, photography and photoshop to learn, a M.Sc. to finish! (not necessarily in that order... at least I hope!)

I'm kinda partial to boats since my trip onboard the icebreaker Amundsen last year. Though it's not exactly like the caravelles of old, you still get a feeling, I think. And as a passenger I suppose you must have a lot of time on your hands... hence the meditation :)

Thanks again for reviewing!

Awww... wow. I'm sorry I didn't read and review this earlier, but that was a very, very sweet ending to a great fic. I loved the reality and clarity with which Ilire approached this, as well as the backdrop of Brynnlaw and Spellhold and what we know is going to happen next. Also, I thought you described the interchanges between the two beautifully in such a short time.

Thanks for a stirring conclusion to a very interesting and original fic. I wholeheartedly enjoyed this one. :D
