I could have sworn while looking for upgrades I once came across a Tashia 2.05d version. Couldn't install it at the time. Has anyone else found it and remembers where it is?

Don't you need a special program to unpack the files? I think I didn't know where to put them the last time I used Winrar.

WinRaR should do so automatically. Just specify your BGII directory and run the weidu installation

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

Anything new with version 'D' from 'C' in terms of content?

Well, good luck with that.

I thought only the weidu version was updated.

Yes, that's what I remember as well.

I really must reiterate that I'm quite disappointed in the Tashia fanbase, which was once so vocal, but has done precisely zero about the author's declaration of open season on improving and updating the mod. There's certainly plenty of content that isn't there. I would have expected that with all the once-rabid interest in the character, someone would have done something about it by now.

You're right in the fact that there is a public domain NPC sitting there and no one with any skills has attempted to modify her in the least. Anyway, I was suspecting that version 'D' was nothing more than a WeiDU update but I figured I'd ask about any other additions anyway.

Nowadays, I believe Tashia is suffering from 'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt' syndrome. No one wants to give Tashia an overhaul.

I could buy that but when I look around at things like the Imoen and Solaufein forums, even requests for more stuff in Kelsey or in one of the published Bioware flirt packs... people seem to hang in there asking for more, usually.

It's because there is no one actively 'owning' the project. If someone were to step up to the plate there woudl be plenty of interest in changes and you would see more requests being made. There is an old saying that when 'everyone' is responsible then no one does it. Folks know that and so they don't bother to request now.

Things I would change in no particular order.

1. The 'rescue' battle - scale back on the items but balance that by creating a few new creations to put in the place of the items I would be taking away.

2. A few minor dialogue changes.

3. Look into adding more interjections.

4. Upgrade the flirts.

5. Change Tashia's paper doll colors to better match the portrait.

6. Look into creating a brand new area for that rescue battle instead of using the current cave. Not sure I would change this.

7. Create a new spell or two for Tashia.

However I know that I don't have the time to learn to do this stuff myself right now (though I do have the basic skills being an IT worker). Heck I don't even have time to play regularly anymore.

If someone were to take over then I would ask for those changes.

2. What exactly? Tell me and I change it.

3,4. If someone is writing the dialogues I can implement (converting to WeiDU speech)

5. I'll see what can be done.

7. Which? As innate spells? Don't forget you are limited to the effects present in the game.

I guess I'm just asking for clarification.

When you wrote "If someone is writing the dialogues I can implement (converting to WeiDU speech)" Maus did you mean that if someone was up for writing dialogues, that you would implement them into the mod?

If that is the case...hmm...I could easily see people coming up with additional dialogue, as well as new flirts...maybe even make it public to see what people think.

I do know that I lack the programming skills to try and enhance the Tashia mod myself.

What I can do is:

1. Implement dialogue, written in WeiDU, to the mod.

2. If someone can't write in WeiDU, I need at least a file with the text. In a form like (not exactly, but I think you 'll get the intention):

a) for Tashia with Partymember:
T: blabla
Other: blabla
T: dumdidum
etc.

B) for Tashia with HC:
dialog1
T: blablb
HC: 1. answer1 goto dialog 2
only if HC is male (fighter, etc.) then 2. answer2 got dialog 57 ;)

dialog2
c) for comments:
when xy saying: abcd; then T should interject and say: blabla

I'm not keen on typing dialogue or transferring ideas into dialogues. I hope that Arrian is reading this forum and will intervene if we are talking about new things he didn't like to see in the mod.

And not to forget, I don't have the time to test things in game. I can only guarentee that the installation will be correct.

Thanks for the clarification Maus :)

Heh...and I will see about signing with the board, but if I'm only making one or two posts, then it doesn't make much sense to register...

@Joe: she is in the tavern (I think there is only one in Trademeet) near the house where you can find the mayor. There she should be standing near the bar.

Maus: I'm inclined to try your new version of Tashia. Do you know of any technical problems? Compatibility with the following mods is an issue:
Baldurdash Fixpack V1.12
Baldurdash Game Text Update V1.2
Ascension V1.4.15
Solaufein V0.96
Tactics V13
Kelsey-SOA V1.5
Kelsey-TOB V1.05
Ease-Of-Use (Excepting the cutscene accelerator already known to be incompatible with Tashia).
Oversight V1
ItemUpgrade V29

Thanks for any information. I'm probably getting around to playing with Tashia ;-) sometime next week...

Sorry for the delay in responding.

The one dialogue that really bothers me the most is the one where Tashia learns that you are a Bhallspawn. I've wanted more options for reply there.

I've also wanted a few more reply choices in the dialogues where she talks about being stuck in the past.

Sorry that I don't have specifics but I'll see what I can do. I had a lot in mind some time ago but was forced into a BG break by events in the real world.

Spell wise I was thinking along the lines of what was done with Kelsey's Fire Shield Green. A single custom spell ... maybe one she starts with ... would do the trick. Yes other Sorcerers could learn the spell but with no scroll it is unlikely that the spell would become all that common. I like the things floating around Tashia in her portrait so maybe a custom summons spell ... of course that would requre adding a creature or two.

Ieldra, I have the Solaufein, Kelsey, and Item upgrade mods loaded up with Tashia and there is no compatability problems. Be aware, however, that Tashia doesn't have interactions with Solaufein or Kelsey.
