This was probably the first challenge where I left out the "don't you even try to say you can't draw, goddammit" rant, and this is what I get! Heyy, Neferit, remember that this isn't a contest, and I have really appreciated you participating in our challenges! It would be a shame if you'd back off because you're thinking you're making a fool out of yourself. Which you're not making. Come on! Let us see your take on Solar! Besides, this challenge lasts for two weeks, so you've got plenty of time!

Heh, sorry for angering you, Ilmatar but the truth is that my only activities in which I've ever got any feedback (negative or positive - it doesn't matter) was violin playing, singing and dancing. I tried to draw better but I think this is not my thing and never be

So this is my Solar - it's slightly re-done my older picture. I was to lazy for even trying to do the colouring. And between the X of us - blue Solar reminds me strongly of smurfs



If anyone is interested, here is the original paint, formerly part of larger picture in theme of "Life and Death".

The Solar isn't exactly blue, it's more of a blue-green sea-green like color. And you're all welcome for the color pattern

*grumble, grumble* Yes, she may be good-looking, but you can't substitute boobs for personality. Mm, zombie solar, happy thoughts. Not sure I'd trust an undead with unlimited arrows of slaying, though. Grr, why couldn't I have got stuck with a proper neutral, un-biased mentor instead? Urge to draw celestial in pieces... rising...

Omfg srsly. That is freaking awesome. The pose, the coloring, the anatomy.... Perfect. Are you a professional, by any chance? A graphic designer or something? Because you COULD BE.

I was in graphic design for about 5 years but lost my taste for it. I'm pretty decent but nowhere near a professional level. Those artists have that something that I don't that puts them on a level far above me. Still, I do what I can.

Well, I didn't exactly go through a graphic design course, I went through a computer animation course that had elements of graphic design in it. None of those classes taught me how to draw, though. That's something I've been working on for the majority of my life...and I just like the human form. Ask me to draw a house, though.....yeesh, not pretty.

If Edgar Allen Poe were to write a poem to describe a Solar, your piece would be a visual representation of that poem. I mean that in a good way.

Oh, and I sympathize with the use of a mouse. One of the first things I did with my first paycheck was buy a drawing tablet.

Pointless as it may be to submit anything after whatbrick, I figure what the hells. Didn't color it yet. Figured I might destroy it in the process like I did the first half dozen or so attempts, so scan first, then color.

And yeah, WeeRLegion, I feel your pain about drawing with the mouse.

Hey everyone, just wanted to remind you that you still have over five days to participate, thanks to our extended deadlines! I'm hoping we'll still get some entries from you!

Also Neferit - Smurfette-Solar will be counted to the statistics, even though it's not exactly original, but the evil thinking behind is worth it. Fantastic!
