Xarana: As opposed to the high-and-mighty Talon?
Darian: I take it no further explanation is required.
Xarana: Bah. You keep on preening your feathers, Darian.
Darian: If only you, Tempest, and the rest of this madhouse he keeps locked up in his head would give me enough peace and quiet to actually clean my wings, I *would* be preening.
Xarana: Now who's being contrary for the sake of it?
Darian: If you don't quiet yourself, I'll ask Riysler to come in and talk philosophy with you, shadow druid.
Xarana: You're bluffing.
Darian: Try me.
Xarana: No, I don't think I will. You've got a damn good poker face, I'll give you that.

So, alpha by tonight, maybe? A girl can dream, can't she?

Tempest: *Pointedly avoids looking around*
Xarana: Oh, for Auril's sake, if you won't say it, I will...
Darian: NO!!!
Xarana: Oh, yes! If you know anything about tp2 coding and whatnot, Tempest has a thread over in Modding Help where he's trying to make sure he's got the code for Darian's tp2 file and whatnot done correctly. For those without altruistic impulses, such as myself, think of it as making the torture of this hapless winged elf commence.
Darian: I hate you, Xarana.
Xarana: I suppose it's a good thing Tempest is seriously considering us ending in bloodshed if he ever turns me into a mod. You do know our goddesses are in a state of open war.
Darian: I do know that. But Tempest says no killing.
Xarana: You aren't even released and being romanced by squealing little girls, and you're whipped. Tsk, tsk.
Darian: You only say that because you're a cold-blooded murderer who considers herself an abomination and hence will not be romancable if and when Tempest ever makes you into a mod.
Sariss: Hi, everyone! I could certainly be romancable, by either gender!
Darian: An ill wind has just blown across this servant. My soul fills with darkness, and suddenly I feel cold... oh, so cold...
Xarana: Who the hell are you?
Sariss: Another mod npc concept Tempest is tossing around in his head. I am Sariss, water genasi sorceress from the elemental plane of water.
Darian: Oh, Aerdrie Faeyna... the idea of Tempest making a romancable female makes me die a little inside.
Sariss: I'm actually as emotionally healthy as any character Tempest can ever come up with.
Xarana: That's not saying much, girl...
Sariss: *Pouts*
Darian: I am suddenly afraid. Very, very afraid.
Xarana: For once, I think I agree.
Sariss: Yay!
Tempest: Sorry folks. I've given up any attempt at keeping them locked up-there's an epic-level void incarnate in here, and nothing seems to stay secure for long.

Xarana: Erm, Darian, what are you doing with that wrench and the engine?
Darian: I am doing my best to sabotage it. You wouldn't happen to have seen Jan around here, would you?
Xarana: No, thank Auril.
Darian: Damn it.
Xarana: You really don't want this to happen, do you?
Darian: You still have to ask?
Xarana: No, I was merely asking because of that look on your face when I do.
Darian: I am surrounded by madmen.
Xarana: The feeling's mutual, I think.
Darian: Hold, I think that crazed squirrel wants to meet this new girl Tempest is tossing around in his head.
Xarana: Wheee....
Darian: Anything that takes attention away from me is good, I think. Fair warning, Solstice, the new girl's had a name change while Tempest's been fleshing out her personality and background. She is now known as Vitalia.
Vitalia: I liked the old name more.
Tempest: Deal with it.
Vitalia: Tempest says your name is Solstice and are nine-tenths insane. Fine by me. My mom's insane, too.
Xarana: What is it with people and crazy relatives these days...
Vitalia: Okay, technically my mom is just a member of the Sign of One. To most people, that translates to her being insane. And my dad always yells at me whenever I date someone who isn't a paladin. I'm a sorceress, by the way, and I'm from the elemental plane of water. I wound up here on the Prime by accident, mostly. I'm not a planewalker, either-I just want to go home and cuddle up with a good book and my seacat familiar. But since I'm here, I'd love to write a book on my travels.
Darian: Kid, get out of this thread. You're on my turf.
Vitalia: Oh, I don't think we've met. Are you from the plane of air? I've been there a few times, helping out my dad on research trips-he's a wizard.
Darian: I sense I am outmatched. Tempest, don't you have to go eat lunch or something?
Tempest: Now that you mention it, yes. You really aren't a match for anyone who is emotionally healthy, Darian. You generally end up looking like an arrogant bigot or an idiot.

Darian: No! I refuse to do this! I will not submit!
Tempest: You will.
Darian: NEVER! I WILL NOT-*CRUNCH*
Riysler: That was exquisitely aimed, Xarana.
Xarana: I've wanted to do that for a long time.
Vitalia: Did he really deserve that? I've been here for only a few days.
Xarana: Trust me, girl, he deserved it and then some. But I think you're here to stay-you're clawing for third on Tempest's priority list, after Darian ToB, myself, and you're fighting with Riysler for his project after that. He's already created your family, for Auril's sake.
Vitalia: Yay! But I swear, I will never be as dour as you or Darian!
Xarana: Shyaern said that once. Now look at her.
Vitalia: I'm doomed, aren't I?
Riysler: Very likely so, yes. Tempest appears utterly incapable of touching a character and leaving any cheerfulness in that character's soul. Xarana is a cold-blooded mass murderer, I am emotionally dead, Darian lies to himself about his feelings, Kymas Turan's past has left him partially blind and bearing deep scars, physical and otherwise... you are innocent now, but when Tempest is done with you, you won't recognize yourself.
Vitalia: You know, sometimes I swear Tempest is insane-
Xarana: -You're not alone-
Vitalia: -I mean, he's seriously contemplating the idea of me having an npc-npc romance with Minsc!

But Darian, there's lots of cute Bhaalspawn ladies out there, just waiting for you and you alone! How could you wish to pass up on such an opportunity?

Riysler: Accept your fate, Darian. There is little you can do to stop Tempest.
Darian: By Aerdrie Faeyna, Tempest, couldn't you take Vitalia or something? She actually *wants* this to happen to her!
Tempest: No. As soon as I confirm you bug-free for SoA, work on your ToB content will begin. I've already written all of your epilogues, mind.
Darian: With my last breath, I will fight you and your designs, Tempest.
Tempest: You will do exactly what I tell you to. Getting you to install is the final obstacle before I commend your soul to the Lord.
Darian: No.
Tempest: Oh, yes.
Xarana: Want me to whack him again?
Tempest: Please.
*CRUNCH*
Tempest: *Stumbles over and collapses*
Xarana: Oh, dear. Clumsy me.
Darian: I am most thankful. Frightened, but thankful.

Tempest: *Walks in and sets down a large, powerfully enchanted flamethrower* And I've been toasting them, one by one. It's down to attempting to install Darian, seeing where Weidu says the error is, and fixing the problem-or trying to, at any rate. I'm stuck on a very irritating little problem at the moment. Darian's last line of defense is a good one, but it can't hold back the stream of code-fixing napalm. It is only a matter of time.

Xarana: What, you can't actually respond?
Darian:
Xarana: Darian, say something.
Darian:
Xarana: Congratulations, Solstice. I think you broke Darian. Well done.
