(I'm still experimenting with this. 900 works, will soon try 999, but I think 1024 did not. Will test it again.)

Or better, you try 999 and tell us what results you've found.
EDIT: 999 works.

It seemed to work fine for me. The reason why I am asking for this information is because I am working on building a custom case/computer just for Baldurs Gate I & II. I am wondering what specs I should get. I know that the computers coming out now are way to powerful for BG and alot of its power will go unused. I am trying to figure out what specs are low enough to run the game as fast as I can and not have any unused extras.

I totally agree! That is why i am searching for used parts for this build, the only new thing I might buy is a hard drive since those get worse with age.Don't assume newer=better

What do you use to throttle the CPU- mo'slo or something? And what do you set it at? I never thought of doing this for BG, but the constant fan does annoy me, so maybe I'll give it a shot. When gaming, I throttle the CPU to about half speed, to keep the fan from running constantly, so I need to bump up the frame rate a bit. Works out nicely: no fan or soft blowing, no jerkiness within the game, characters move normally.
