And re: the other posts - yes, Gorion definitely has an Obi-Wan quality about him .

...uh, I dunno. He kinda looks more like Osama bin Laden than Gorion.
Something about it rather bugs me, but I can't put my finger on it. Seems I still need a few years of practice until I'm as good at this as people like Ilmatar and Flysoup. But I'm still quite impressed with how it turned out. This is only like my second attempt ever to colour something in Photoshop.

Thought I'd try to actually do something serious here for a change.

I think it looks cool, especially his facial expressions has a certain mood in it that feels alive. Donīt know exectly what bugs you in the drawing, mayhaps it is the ear that need to be slightly bended backwards since it now looks as it is viewed from a profile.
I make misstakes like that all the time, just look at the weird twisted leg on the image of my PC in this forum. The main importance for me in a image is that it feels "alive" rather than to be 110% flawless in the technical way. Many times I have seen drawings that are perfect in the technical way but they have lost their mood and feeling.
Same goes for music, there are many professional schooled musicians but they might lack the "feeling". And there are so many musicians that gets into ones heart even though they some times donīt know how to hold an instrument though they have a personality in their work that touch and affects the listener.
And remember drawing is a language that anyone can teach to use, with or without talent. The important thing is to keep drawing then you will develop.
Good speed,
flysoup

Gorion: That isn't amusing, Imoen. *Casts Melf's overlarge nose on Imoen*
Imoen: Eww! GET IT OFF!

Painted with aquarelles in 30-45 minutes.
All the other Gorions here are fantastic! Thanks so much again for participating, everybody! You still have two more days to submit your Gorions here. I hope to see many more! I'll have you know that we now have seven entries for Gorion, but last week's challenge got nineteen entries from fifteen participants, so it will take many more illustrations to catch last weeks score!

Wow, Gorion was harder to draw than I had thought. I'm not completely happy with this one either, but it's the closest to how I see him in my mind.

Nice one Ilmatar, handpaintings always seems more alive in my eyes. I like the mood in the painting. It is almost as if Gorion gets a vision of the future and see what is about happen. A worried but yet consentrated expression.
Well, here comes another verision of mine on Gorion. This portrait is more close on how I visualize Gorion in my mind. My earlier portrait of him looks more like an old wandering mage in Gandalf and Elmister style. This one is illustrating the episode when Gorion heals his ward in the beginning of the tale just before they leave Candlekeep.
Latest add: small reflection spots on the eyes so they doesnt look so evil, zombyfied and dead B)
Best regards,
flysoup

You have some talent, flysoup!
Thank you, hopefully I will get my arse from this chair and start practising the art of drawing instead of being caught by the so addictive rpg games.
Good speed to all of you.

Gorion's challenge is now closed and we will not take any more entries. Feel free to comment on these fine illustrations, though! If you did happen to pour your soul on paper while drawing him and did not manage to post your illustration here, feel free to make your own art topic here on Layers of Reality - we would still love to see what you have drawn.
Two challenges are now done, and so far vilkacis has been the most active participant. He has participated in both challenges with a total of five entries! See the Statistics post for more detailed info.
Thank you everybody! I look forward of seeing your views on our villains!
