Pragmatist (working kitname, but I kinda like it)
There are many honourable fighters with strict moral codes of conduct in the realms.
This fighter is not one of them. This warrior fights to win and if that means fighting dirty; so be it.
To be more diplomatic, this warrior is a pragmatist.
A Pragmatist will attack first, and they won't hesitate to sneak up and backstab their target if they have the opportunity, as well as resort to other 'underhand' techniques. Due to this approach to fighting, it's not unusual for Pragmatists to have a dagger concealed on their person to draw without warning in the middle of a fight. However, while they do not hesitate to use what are defined as underhand tricks to win it is important to note Pragmatists are not necessarily evil.
Pros:
- +1 to dagger proficiency at level four
- +1 to dagger proficiency at level fourteen
- At level 6 character gains x2 backstab, and at level 12, x3 backstab (capped at x3) and can hide in shadows, as per usual restrictions.
(Hence this might work for a thief or ranger instead. An alternative to the Hide in the shadows is a short invisibility spell, castable a few times per day)
- Every two levels, starting from level 1, innate skill 'Throw Dirt' is gained. Target single creature makes a Save vs. Breath or suffers from blindness for 6 seconds.
- At level 13 onwards, when Throw Dirt is used, target must make a Save vs. Breath at -2 or suffer blindness for 10 seconds. This applies to the previously attained 'Throw Dirt's.
(Should be doable-have a spell that strips the previous 6 Throw Dirts and replace then a spell that replaces them with the improved version)
- Every hit has 5% (10%?) chance for a 'cheap hit' and doing +2 damage, and decreasing target's armour class and attack rolls by 1. (Just to clarify, give the armour and attack rolls a -1 penalty)
- Every 3 levels, starting at level three, can Poison Weapon, like assassin.
- Every 4 levels, starting at level 1, can head butt target. Doing so does 1d3 damage and target makes a save versus spells or suffers from 40% chance to miscast magic for 14 seconds. There is a 20% chance 1d2 damage and an attack roll penalty of -2 for twenty seconds is suffered to the person doing the head butting.
Cons:
- -4 Charisma, -2 strength
- Can only have 3 profiancy points in weapons.
- Can't wear any heavier armour than chainmail
- If the thief is used as the base, unable to set traps or disarm traps or pick pockets,and -10 to Hide in the shadows and Move Silently.
- If the ranger is used as the base, unable to cast spells or charm animals.
- Cannot be lawful alighnments.

That's a vague outline of the build-as I've mentioned below, if John Wayne in one of his western films is the noble fighter type, then I'm aiming for Clint Eastwood 'Man with no name' style warrior.
