CTD after Gorion Cutscene

Looks like I can also get the crash if I just load the game and talk to Gorion straight away, but the crash seems to go away if muck around with the inventory (e.g. taking the helmet off). Have you tries things like that?

I just wanted to chime in and add that I also had this problem on a heavily modded installation of BGT. None of the possible fixes mentioned here helped, unfortunately.

I completely reinstalled everything, and then checked after each mod that I added to see if I could get out of Candlekeep successfully. The problem recurred when I had both the mods Dark Horizons and Stone of Askavar installed. Either by itself did not cause a problem, but with both of them I did have a problem.

Obviously, this won't help the people having this problem without those mods, but since it seems quite a few of us are running into this, I wanted to mention it and maybe save someone else some time and hassle.

I had a look at these crashes, and they appear to sporadic.
Strangely enough, I can reproduce them after installing BGT vanilla + all components of BG2 Tweaks. However, the cause cannot be tracked to a single component because the crashes go away after you successfully load AR6600 at any time (e.g. using MoveToArea). The weird things is, the crash goes away forever after this, but when you re-install BG2 Tweaks again, the crash comes back.

Even more funny is that the same crash offset occurs in the CanOfBier's saved game (with the helmet on). 0x5ca8a8.

It doesn't make sense...

i am having the same problem was there ever a way to fix it without having to reinstall the whole setup again i have had many problems and sat through many installs and i rolled a really good character :) !!!

Is this the same thing you reported here? It's usually better not to resurrect a more-than-one-year-old thread, especially to repeat things already reported on the same forum. Anyway, does it crash when the fight begins, or does the area crash when it loads? Could this help?

i'm having a slight problem. my game doesn't crash but Sarevok doesn't show up. we're all standing around waiting on him to come in and attack and he doesn't show up. someone please tell me this is an easy fix. ;-)
