Latimer?

Erm,

Have had Nathaniel in the party for a while, he's stood up to Latimer and all is well in that respect. However I rested out in the wilds a few days later and then he appeared, but just stood around; when the PC or Nathaniel tried to speak to him he didn't have anything to say. Is this normal? I continued adventuring and when I entered some of TDD modules i got a "Latimer: Morale failure" message at the start, but never saw him. Is this what's meant to be happening, or is my computer playing silly buggers again?

The same bug I wrote about on the previous forum (while Nathaniel was THE CHOSEN OF MYSTRA). I strarted to play again. I've installed the new version of mod but the problem still appears... Latimer comes for the first time and we speaks normally. Next day he appears again but he says nothing, stands and when I rest again, the morales are brake. I tried to talk with Avery before Latimer comes, I said him that he is alive but it didn't help. This bug makes the mod unplayable. Any ideas? Please, do something with it. I wont let him join the party until the bug is fixed.

Hey guys, i've just discovered i have the same problem, Latimer turns up after i rest but refuses to speak to anyone. does it cause much of a problem later in the game or can i simply play on? i gotta say i'm loving the mod so far, u guys did a great job!

Well - you only need to speak to him once...

This happened in my game with TDD and SoS - he showed up in the Soubar training field.

It was quite funny to watch him running around the training field - but since I got to speak to him the first time, I didn't have any issues continuing the mod....

Gr8.... I have Big Picture so Nathaniel won't work correctly... Eh.... Please, do something with this.... there must be a solution...

Check here http://www.shsforums...showtopic=23482 and make sure you have all the prerequisites installed. For example, do you have the G3 fixpack? If not, that may be part of the problem.

It could also be TDD... I haven't had that mod installed for years, but I know some of the earlier versions caused all kinds of problems on my system. Maybe it's fixed now, but if you have all the patches installed properly, that would be my next guess.

I have the fixpack installed and the official patch, I do not have TDD or The Big Picture or anything like that installed and it still happens for me, but I don't let it bother me. I just "role play" that Latimer is "stalking" Nathaniel and the PC from a distance and when he sees how much they love each other his morale fails and he goes bonkers. lol

Oh man, now I want to get this bug just to imagine that!! I always thought Latimer left too quickly.

Great - I'm a fanficcer and now my imagination is running riot with that idea. Might have to write that up someday.

So am I right in thinking this isn't an important error, that I'm only supposed to encounter Latimer once, and that I'm not missing a second Nathaniel-Latimer conversation.

Just to clarify - he shows up and talks to you as normal, and then he turns up again? Or does he turn up for the first time, *not* talk to you and have morale failure?

As I can remember from some days ago, after the talk when he firstly appears, Latimer spawns the day after. Than, he just stands there.

You can try to speak to him, but he won't talk. I haven't seen any message of morale fails. Maybe because I've saved in another slot and I've quitted the game? Anyway, I really want to listen to that damned talk...

I tried with the spawn code for Latimer. The first time the talk activates, so that Latimer and Nathaniel definitively ( :P ?) break. Than I respawned Latimer after the first one has gone, and he has nothing to say to me. He just stands there, doing nothing. :mellow:

Sigh...is that fixed with the 4th version? :crying:


AAAH! I almost forgot!...Which is the name and which the surname??? :wacko:

Eh? Which version are you playing? As far as I know Latimer is supposed to show up exactly once, so no need to respawn him the second time. Oh, and his surname is Bryce (very army-sounding name, don't you think?)

I guess 3-something...I can't remember, I'm not on my personal computer. Anyway, after the first spawn, he respawns the day after.
