Maybe add a tobacco pipe that increases one's Intelligence by 1 while equipped, because don't all wise old men sit around smoking and sipping fine liquor?

I think MajorTomSawyer did this for some mod or other, but offhand, I forget which. (I think he actually runs a pipe shop in RL, so he wanted his own for the game. )

 

The original movie had no audio at all, and although I have restored some audio, no one has yet to produce a suitable audio clip of the famed "female elven voice".

I'm sure there's something ghostly somewhere, or are you looking for something specific? BG Dark Alliance had such an effect; there's various clips of it out there (in that one it starts around 3:20).

Well, after 8+ months I imagine the cart driver is getting bored .  Is there anything I/we can do to help before it gets bludgeoned over the head and put on the cart?

Real life has gripped me with a vengeance, so I don't know if I'll have any time anytime soon. I have more orders coming in than I can handle, and it's supposed to be slow season...

 

Plus I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped.

 

Haven't heard from Yovaneth in a long time either. But you have access to the subforum don't you? If you want to run through the alpha, maybe do a rough write-up and see what we need to work on (lots I reckon), that could help.

No worries: I totally understand the priority and obligations of RL. Poking the topic every few months just keeps *people* from forgetting about it entirely .

Yes, we are looking for folks to help with alpha testing, write-ups (as in a draft readme/walkthrough) and, if you have the skill, dialogue, scripting and other mod-like stuff. Since you have already volunteered, I am hereby recruiting you, and you already have access to the dev forum. However, you did not respond to my last message. Is it because I offered to recompensate you for the 21-year Glenfiddich with a bottle of Clan MacGregor?

 

As for Crevs Daak, WithinAmnesia or anyone else who is interested in helping with the stuff I mentioned, let me know. We (Yovaneth and I) do not have a lot of time for this at present but we feel we might be able to get this at least to something resembling a beta with a little help and effort.

Sorry I haven't responded yet, but lately I haven't been able to be as active here as I would like.  As you know, I went on vacation for 10 days, then the next week I was absolutely swamped at work (probably because I was gone for a week...), and then my computer.went kaput.  I've got a Windows Image Backup of the whole thing, but the windows software to restore it is so poorly designed it fails to do so, regardless of what I try.  I tried every thing I could think of to fix it, and then failing that to restore the backup, but couldn't get anything to work.  Finally I took it to my regular computer repair shop, and they tried diligently for two days to get the backup to restore, but failed.  (There went nearly a couple hundred bucks in labor, plus another hundred+ in hardware... ) I've borrowed a computer from work to get me through, but all my compiling environments, programming tools, modding utilities, games, resources, etc. remain inaccessibly locked away in a backup made by windows but that windows is too incompetent to restore.  Some scotch sure would make my month better, tho .

I wish you'd told me that before you dropped that kind of dough. I suppose you probably aren't familiar with my mixed bag of skills, but I have a fair bit of experience in resurrecting hard drives (including two or three of my own at present). If I can help with that, it might be better than scotch (well, bottom-shelf scotch anyway...).

Ultimately, we probably want to offer native multi-platform support, but we're not quite there yet. Anyway, I'll see if we can get you access... if we ever can raise an admin around here.

If you ever do raise an admin I'd like to take a go at getting it EET ready. The tools provided by k4thos give a decent changelog and being BG1 area nothing major would need to be done.

Wow, crazy to think that the idea and art for the Balduran's Seatower mod go back nearly 20 years!

 

 

By the way if someone ever does, I would love to see the actual song of the Elfsong Tavern be put in as a small mod for nostalgia purposes.

This has been done by Jarl's Adventure Pack, which ports the beautiful song from BG:DA to the Elfsong Tavern, plus a little quest to go with it.
