@ kimmel
"should 1stmod still be used?" --> I really don't know. It's here because it always was commended. I didn't dare to delete it because of a single meaning. Any advice?

@ Zodden
Thanks for your advice. I will mind it with the next installation.

Once the BGT version of BG1 NPC project comes out of beta, it will be installed with subitem 24 as it has been before (and I myself always had). But before SoS and TDD? And as a result before BGT-WeiDU? Why that? Could this not cause a lot of other problems? Installing at the end is only temporary to handle the currently problems.

Actual I have installed some updated versions of a few other mods. The published edition 2 of my list is not that one I am working on. But the next editon will be published not until the last mod is installed and tested. It could be that a fault made at the beginning only shows to end of installation.

Now I have split D0questpack and installed only the component "Revised Hell Trials" before BG2 Fixpack without any error - it seems to work.

BG1 NPC should be after TS, NeJ, SoS, TDD.

Leonardo, hello again.

I'm not able to search text in your PDF, due to security restrictions. I see that you want to copyright the instructiions.

I now have the answer to the question that I asked you a few times:
yes, your players are manually installing the mods.
If you want an idea of how to install this massive list (semi-)automatically, send me a PM.

1stmod:
the bigg himself suggested (recommeneded?) this mod is no needed.

RoT:
There are some bugs that have been corrected. Ideally, make these changes before installing RoT (but it is possible to correct dome after installation).
http://www.shsforums...showtopic=22078

BHDSNT patch:
I read somewhere that this is no longer needed with current versions (1.85?) of Bone Hill/DS-NTotSC

BG1->BG2 trasition:
I would recommend uninstalling mods/components, like BG1NPC, just *before* the transition (just before talking to Belt), not after, as BGT is going to do a lot of clearing of settings anyway.

It probably doesn't matter much, but that's what I will be doing.

Blucher's Expanded Thief Stronghold - version 2.14:
this version no longer overwrites files, so doesn't need to go up top. Even so, keep it where it is, so that no other mod overwrites it!

Unfinished Business:
- The Suna Seni/Valygar Relationship
Can anyone confirm that this conflicts with NeJ? I vaguely remember someone/somewhere that there is not a conflict. I'ld like to know as I have it installed in my list.

Well The BG1 NPC project would be installed after Sos and TDD and the BP Family but BGT-Weidu itself (which is now up to 1.04) would have to go before those other mods. The usual install currently is non-weidu mod, fixpack, big BP family mods then BGT but that would change to non weidu mod, fixpack, BGT 1.04 then big BP family like TDD, SoS, etc. This is what PRO5 has been saying to do if you are installing the PRO5 beta versions of BG1 NPC.

You can read about it below:

From PRO5

This install order with BGT first is needed to ensure BG1NPC always changes correct dialog states. V12-Beta had errors (regardless of install order) in dialog state numbers so that BG2 dialog states or mod-added states were changed instead of BGT ones.

I've discussed the possibilities of removing this install order requirement with cmorgan, but we decided it's too much effort for nothing, because: a) it's very complex thing to do; B) BGT will still work perfectly no matter if it's installed before or after TDD (or other BP family mods).

I mentioned this in the current stickied Erebusant's install thread, here, but I guess it's not easy to find now, sorry.

Thanks for your advice. I will mind it with the next installation.

You can search in the PDF, but you cannot copy. I made the security restrictions because I want to prevent that different versions bustle about in the net and no one knows what is the valid one. I also don't want anyone makes money or other improper things with it. This is made for you and me, the players. I want to develop it further with your help. I only want control over that project as long as I
guide it - that's all.

There is an automated install process for Weigos install order here: http://home.arcor.de...ODINSTALLER.exe . It is based on erebusant's order. It downloads all needed files and installs them in the correct order without any help. It also includes the german text patches. This shall be enlarged to Leo's mod install.

@ Zodden
From Baldur?s Gate Trilogy ? WeiDU (BGT-WeiDU) Developer?s Documentation Version 1.04:

"Baldur?s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU implements support for modifications that should be installed before it. As stated in the readme, the modifications that should be installed before Baldur?s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU include Check the Bodies, Never Ending Journey, Shadows Over Soubar, Tortured Souls, and The Darkest Day. With Baldur?s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU version 1.02, BG2 Fixpack compatibility is also supported. All of these mentioned modifications are incompatible with the base installation of Baldur?s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU in some way, and thus require special patching by WeiDU in order to allow full compatibility between Baldur?s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU and these modifications."

I have a incompatibility with D0QuestPack v2.3 and LuvNaliaWeidu106:
If D0QuestPack v2.3 is installed after LuvNalia, I get the following warnings:

WARNING: cannot find block matching [questpack/helltest/data/d2a_1.baf]
WARNING: cannot find block matching [questpack/helltest/data/d4a_1.baf]
WARNING: cannot find block matching [questpack/helltest/data/d6a_1.baf]

If LuvNalia is installed after D0QuestPack v2.3, I get these following warnings:
WARNING: cannot find block matching [LuvNalia\BAF\BCS\AR2904A.BCS]
WARNING: cannot find block matching [LuvNalia\BAF\BCS\AR2904C.BCS]
WARNING: cannot find block matching [LuvNalia\BAF\BCS\AR2904E.BCS]

Has anyone a solution for this?

Leo I don't think these instructions apply to the unreleased PRO-5 betas but I am not an expert. You will have to ask PRO5 or Cmorgan if what they said to do applies to PRO5-3. I am sure they may come and comment.

Quick question I have for you. I notice you said that TDD must be installed before fixpack. That goes against the normal install order. Is there any reason why you do this? It just says in the .pdf that it must go before fixpack but it does not say why. Also does that apply to fixpack version 2.0 as well?

Hope you will keep updating the English version .pdf as you go. :) Also hope somebody with the skill will be able to make an English version installer for your mods when its done. That sounds great. It downloads the mods it needs and installs them all in the proper order without user input? Thats 100% awesome.

It's me again. I installed TDD after BG2 Fixpack and I got the Anomen error. Upon investigation it's not really an error at all it's just that both the Fixpack and TDD try to do the same thing to Anomen's ToB bcs file (if he's a paladin his title changes on his character screen). The warning can be ignored.

@ Leonardo re: Installation of TDD before Fixpack, it would be better to allow Fixpack address the changes to anom25.bcs 1st, and then comment out the following lines in the TDD.tp2 before running it as below.

//COPY_EXISTING ~ANOM25.BCS~ ~override~

// REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~TDD/SNIP/oANOM25.BAF~ ~TDD/SNIP/nANOM25.BAF~

Regardless, as russ mentions above, Fixpack has already modified anom25.bcs and TDD error is merely reporting the change has already been completed when it tries. Commenting out the lines will only accomplish the removal of the error showing itself, nothing more or less.
I also used to get the same error when installing with Bdash v1.5

WARNING: cannot find block matching [LuvNalia\BAF\BCS\AR2904C.BCS]
WARNING: cannot find block matching [LuvNalia\BAF\BCS\AR2904E.BCS]

Has anyone a solution for this?

You'll need to hack the bafs being referenced by these 2 mods for them to install properly. BG2 Fixpack closes some exploits in Hell and modifies ar2904.bcs in doing so. Questpack adds a neutral path to the helltests with the following lines of code in it's .tp2:

COPY_EXISTING ~ar2904.bcs~ ~override/ar2904.bcs~

REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~questpack/helltest/data/d2a_1.baf~ ~questpack/helltest/data/d2a_2.baf~

REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~questpack/helltest/data/d2b_1.baf~ ~questpack/helltest/data/d2b_2.baf~

REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~questpack/helltest/data/d4a_1.baf~ ~questpack/helltest/data/d4a_2.baf~

REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~questpack/helltest/data/d4b_1.baf~ ~questpack/helltest/data/d4b_2.baf~

REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~questpack/helltest/data/d6a_1.baf~ ~questpack/helltest/data/d6a_2.baf~

REPLACE_BCS_BLOCK ~questpack/helltest/data/d6b_1.baf~ ~questpack/helltest/data/d6b_2.baf~

Your warnings are from Questpack not finding the script block in ar2904.bcs that the _1.baf files are looking for so they can't be replaced by the _2.baf script blocks. If you open ar2904.bcs with NI and copy the script block that has previously been modified by Fixpack and overwrite the script block in the _1.baf file and save it before installing the "Revised Hell Trials" component of Questpack, the ar2904.bcs will be updated properly by Questpack when you install it. You would then need to follow the same process of comparing the script blocks in your questpack modified ar2904.bcs to the LuvNalia bafs that are giving you errors and change the LuvNalia bafs on the search side of the code to match what is now the sought after script block in your ar2904.bcs.

Of course you may run into other issues if you have different mods that are attempting to modify the same script block. You would then replace a modified script block with a different one, breaking the original modification, and/or that whole section of the game itself.

Entshuldigung, Leonardo. I should have mentioned that I'm using a PDF reader - Foxit Reader - instead of bloatware Adobe. Still, I cannot search text but that must be due to Foxit, perhaps not to your security settings.

Leonardo, I still do not understand how you were able to avoid biffing the big mods during their normal installation without problems. I once spent too many hours trying to remove biffing from them and always ran into crash-to-desktop troubles. I wish your technical person (Leo?) could explain to us how s/he was able to do this successfully.

Quick question I have for you. I notice you said that TDD must be installed before fixpack. That goes against the normal install order. Is there any reason why you do this? It just says in the .pdf that it must go before fixpack but it does not say why. Also does that apply to fixpack version 2.0 as well?

"normal install order" is a tricky concept. G3BG2Fixpack was initially touted as being able to "install anywhere." Reality bit us and proved that is not the case. Or perhaps in this install, it is.

Some of those mods do not like being forced to accept file versions that are not either vanilla or Baldurdash. For simplicity sake, it is better to just push them above G3BG2Fixpack than try custom modifying the mods' files.

Unfinished Business:
- The Suna Seni/Valygar Relationship
Can anyone confirm that this conflicts with NeJ? I vaguely remember someone/somewhere that there is not a conflict. I'ld like to know as I have it installed in my list.

just a quick comment about this, whilst i have a moment: the conflict was always a theoretical one between UB and TS (not NEJ) as TS added a Valygar proto-romance; specifically, the conflict would be between the way UB coded dialogue (the Bioware way) and the way TS coded dialogue (uniquely). note that i'm referring here to TS, not TS-BP, which may well have been cleaned up by KD; note too that on the UB side there was always significant scepticism regarding the possibility of this conflict actually existing in practice.

nevertheless, i've never experienced any conflict between the old BP and UB; TS and UB or TS-BP and UB. YMMV, of course, but i doubt it.

The conflict is very real, they both change the same dialog and there's no install order when you successfully get changes from both mods.

UB is doing this:
EXTEND_BOTTOM PPIRENI1 34
  IF ~InParty("Valygar")~ THEN DO ~SetGlobal("AsylumPlot","GLOBAL",20)
DisplayString(Myself,50707)
Spell(Myself,DO_NOTHING)
StartCutSceneMode()
StartCutScene("u!cut41g")~ EXIT
  IF ~!InParty("Valygar")~ THEN DO ~SetGlobal("AsylumPlot","GLOBAL",20)
DisplayString(Myself,50707)
Spell(Myself,DO_NOTHING)
StartCutSceneMode()
StartCutScene("Cut41g")
~ EXIT
END

TS and TS-BP are extending the same dialog state, which has potential for hanging the game during the follow-up Irenicus cutscene.

To make these two compatible, someone will have to write a new cutscene script which would include changes from both mods (as in: cancelling Yoshimo's removal by TS and addition of Seni Suna by UB), plus add compatibility checks to both mods which if the other is detected would compile above dialog extension to cover 4 possibilities:
1. launch normal spellhold cutscene
2. launch TS cutscene
3. launch UB cutscene
4. launch new TS+UB cutscene.

4. launch new TS+UB cutscene.

:D I can just imagine it:

Valygar: "Suna? Suna Seni..."
PC: "Hello? I thought you were romancing me and Leonora... that is, Leonora and me?"
Yoshimo 1: "(chuckle) You are in trouble, my friend. Fortunately, CHARNAME is adept in solving these problems. After all, she has released me from my geas, yes?"
Yoshimo 2: "Truly in trouble, for *my* geas is still tormenting me, and I am here to kill you all."
PC: "Ahem. I must have had too much Evermead lately..."

Seriously, it is useless. As Papanov used to say, if a user is an idiot, he is going to stay an idiot for a very, very long time. You do not install these components together. You just don't.

I agree, up to certain point - I won't be the one to make that happen. But I never play female characters. Thus, Valygar romance part of TS content is of no interest to me, and I just edited it out to reduce the size of his script.

(obviously, there aren't supposed to be two yoshimos in any version of this cutscene...)

I hade installed Fixpack after TDD to avoid the error:
WARNING: cannot find block matching [TDD/SNIP/oANOM25.BAF]
On erebusant's advice I try the changes like he suggested in post #67.

Then the new order would be :?PRE-NEJ? MODS - NEJ - LuvNalia with/without D0questpack component "Revised Hell Trials" - BG2 Fixpack-v2 - TDD - SOS - CtB - RoT. Do you agree with this?

I want the installation of this huge BGT-world as easy as possible. It should be practicable for the players, not only for the modders. Therefore I want to avoid using NI for installation. Could someone create a patch for the LuvNalia/helltest Problem or would it be better to install either LuvNalia or Revised Hell Trials? (But it would nice to use both)

@ Azarello
I didn't try custom modifying the mods' files. I always used modifications made here at Spellhold Studios. The only changes I made were repairing of some typos.

There is no mystery about installation without biffing. All the mods were installed exactly as described. The Installation was rebuild by several testers without Problems. On the contrary - it was reported, biffing during the installation causes problems.

pro5 is always on the ball. In short, don't install 'Suna Seni/Valygar Relationship' from UB. I played that component many times, and it's so minor no need to include it if there's gonna be a compatiability problem.

@Leonardo: if I'm understanding correctly, the "big" mods - NeJ, CtB, RoT, etc. - are running their normal biffing routines, and you just do a final biffing near the end of the install list. If this is right, it clears up my confusion.

I was hoping you found a way to remove the normal biffing and then do just a final one at the end This would save a lot of space. But to get it to work would involve some massive coding. Not currently feasible, I guess.

Based on Azazello's advice I have changed my installation order. See the relevant part of the logfile. Sorry, partially in German again. But nevertheless you see the position of the mod. Installation was without any error. Of course, the game has to be tested.

I am not sure because of the components "Boo - Minsc?s Familiar" and "Boo - Minsc's Familiar Fixes" Are they compatible with BGT104 or not? Some say yes, from the readme it should also be compatible, but is it true?

Does anyone know whether"BG1 Adventure Pack" and "BG1 CoM Forge/Item Upgrade Mod" are compatible with this the mega-install?

What's about Improved Anvil? It is known to overwrite data. Could it be installed at the beginning of the install (before or after NEJ)
Same question for CoM Encounters.

And last question: What's about Tactics? You have revised this mod some weeks ago, but can it be installed now?
