You will have the same problems as in previous version, I'm afraid.

This install order with BGT first is needed to ensure BG1NPC always changes correct dialog states. V12-Beta had errors (regardless of install order) in dialog state numbers so that BG2 dialog states or mod-added states were changed instead of BGT ones.

I've discussed the possibilities of removing this install order requirement with cmorgan, but we decided it's too much effort for nothing, because: a) it's very complex thing to do; B) BGT will still work perfectly no matter if it's installed before or after TDD (or other BP family mods).

I mentioned this in the current stickied Erebusant's install thread, here, but I guess it's not easy to find now, sorry.

What if I removed BG1 NPC before speaking to Belt? Would that do the trick? I guess I would like to try to find a way to keep my current setup without a whole re-install, but if BG2 will be unplayable then of course I will just re-install.

You can try, but with so many dialogue-heavy mods after reinstalling them all you may run into usual "scrambled strings" problem.

The dialog files affected are those of NPCs present in both BG1 and BG2: Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc, Edwin and Viconia. I dont think your game will be unplayable, but if you encounter any dialog problems with one of them, the problem is the one I described.

Ok thanks so let me just ask one more question if possible. If I wanted to do a new install would this be a good order?

BG2 Fixpack Version 2
BGT 1.02f (or the new one if I install after its release)
Sos 1.11
TDD 1.11
CTb 1.8+chores
RoT V2.0
ScS
BG1NPC Pro5-2
DSotSC
NTotSC
Bonehill

Any smaller quest/content mods, and NPC mods

BP177

Any tweaks like BG2 fixpack, ashses of embers, DOtweaks, BGT Tweaks, refinements etc

Then XP Mod and then worldmap 6.4

This sound workable. I would be just using the same list as my above log with the addition of the new BG2 fixpack version and your new BGT version if you get it out it time as above and just change the install order as listed. That sound workable?

Thanks

Yes, that looks like a good order.

Unfortunately, BP is still beta and has quite a few bugs of its own. Don't forget to delete C6BODHI.CRE from your override folder after BP installation - or else it causes crash in chapter 6.

Make sure you use SCSBGT and not the one over at G3 (its tutu only). I only say this because you just put SCS there on the list.

Sorry I missed this; pro5 is (as usual) 100% correct. There is not currently a good way of investigating and building all of the variants needed for state changes and I_C_Ts added by the big mods - and troubleshooting them would be immensley difficult. The current internal is tested on a vanilla install of BGT, and makes significant numbers of interjections into BG1 states.

I defer to pro5 and Chevalier for install order with additional mods; as far as I know the big mods add states but do not destroy or hijack existing states, so the stable platform is the set of state numbers that are present after BGT is installed (in reality, the BG1 NPC Project can be seen as a modification of the BGT/Tutu platforms of BG2, not a mod for BG2 or BG1! A mod of a mod, so to speak.)

They should look here for a good example of a correct install order. It has worked well so far for me.
