Travel between BG and BG2

Forgive my naivete but is it possible to still travel to the BG areas (i.e Friendly Arms Inn, etc.) while playing SoA? If so, can I complete old quests and get old NPC's?
The areas show up on my map but are "UNREACHABLE". I can CLUA to the areas (at least the ones I have the codes for...) and it seems to interact fine. I guess I want to know if me going there will potentially screw up my game or not.
Also, there are some interesting unique items that are lost when you wake up in Irenecus' dungeon that wouldn't hurt to have around...
Sorry if this is an old topic I just didn't have any luck finding a thread covering this topic.
Thanks, and great job with the mods!

I thought when you transition, the older version of critical NPCs go :poof: ?
No, if nobody destroys them, they are at the very same place where you left them.

KD, it's not so bad. When revisiting BG1 areas from BG2, I just destroy all the "critical" NPCs through script of the area and set their corresponding SPRITE_IS_DEAD variables to zero.

cmon guys... please tell me is there any mod to travel from ToB to Amn out there?
Once you're done with SoA your done. You don't go back. You should complete your BP Family mods before transitioning to ToB.
It takes a village...

For the low, low price of say 10,000 gold, he would transport you to the docks in Baldur's Gate and remain there until you wanted to return, again for that low, low price.
This way a minimum of changes would be needed to be made to the area links tables, just one port from one area to another. In fact, the links tables might night need to be changed at all if you could CLUA transport the party: sorry I don't know anything about the modding side here.

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR....")
wherein "AR...." is the name of the area in SoA you want to travel.
This ferry is free... I mean doesn't require any modding efforts as well as you gold.

You don't even need a ferry. Just use CLUAConsole:
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR....")
wherein "AR...." is the name of the area in SoA you want to travel.
This ferry is free... I mean doesn't require any modding efforts as well as you gold.
True. I was just trying to think of an "in game" solution.
After all, a ferry route between the two port cities certainly makes sense from a role play point of view.

You've got the PlanarSphere Return mod for that. However, trying to enter the World Map will crash the game, so not much use. You can only access the slums, without cluaing with it.cmon guys... please tell me is there any mod to travel from ToB to Amn out there?
