A "friend" and I both play Oblivion on her notebook computer. We both had gotten pretty far in the main quest and then we took a couple weeks break. When we returned to the game last night, all of our saved games were gone. We tried manually looking them up in the computer but sadly they are gone.
It's not a big deal to play the game over for us, but we want to know why our games were deleted. Nothing else on the notebook has been affected.

They didn't delete themselves. I think they are put in the My Documents folder by default, so did you come back to the game with a different user?

No, the games are put in the Games folder by default (as according to the readme) There is only one user on the computer.

Thats very strange, I've left the game for weeks at a time without having my saved games wiped.
Were they just Quicksaves, or actual saves?

Very strange... I've never encountered that myself. Are you sure there isn't any cleanup software active that deletes annoying folders e.g. 'my music', and might have just deleted everything in 'my documents' folder?

There were 2 regular saves and one AutoSave.
I don't think it's a clean up thing, as they were the ONLY files on the PC deleted.
