at the end of installing heart of winter, a msg pompted out and said something like "cant write the register file". and it deleted many files in IWD it just modified such as IWDmain.exe and so.

then i did the installation again and when the msg pompted i switched to desktop and ended the setup progress in windows task manager. well though i turned it down inproperly i had the files in my IWD folder and was able to play.

then i was to install Trials of Luremaster. in progress it asked me to insert CD2 and i did. then it said "Setup was unable to copy files required by the program" and terminated.

im running XP home sp2.

any1 could help?

If HoW is not installed (and it sounds like it is not), then Trials of the Luremaster will not work.

You've got Trials on a CD? I cannot understand what you're trying to say here. Was HoW installed properly (it doesn't sound like it)? If HoW errored out on the installation, then Trials will not install.

No, Trials is an exe file I download online. The CD2 it required was IWD CD2. I think it was becuse the register thing at the end of installing HoW. The Trials installation cant find any info about HOW on my computer so it failed. But i tried to reinstall How a few times and got the same error msg. I ll just give up.

So IWD installs fine? And Trials of the Luremaster would probably install fine too if it wasn't for the HoW error... are you sure that the cd is completely operational? You could install IWD and then copy the files from the HoW cd to your hard disk, an empty folder in any location will do, and run the setup from there. Also, did you patch the games? Because you can just install the games without patches since HoW has the latest patch for IWD and Trials of the Luremaster already has the latest patch for HoW.
