Quick update: romances recoded by Kulyok, phase2 materials almost done by cmorgan, and phase1 materials in progress (over 50% complete) by brelinde. Wrapping in several fixes from various sourrces (including soem scripting and .cre reparis and updates for NPCs by Miloch).

We have included several new components, including opening up Cloakwood early, and a completed and tested Xan Quest (Faldorn and Tiax Quests are still in development). We are also pioneering ideas culled from several modders where we establish one set of basic code templates and then use variable substitution to build the platform materials on the fly. If it works well, then we have a way of folks writing new mods to be able to write them as combined Tutu/BGT mods from the ground up. For more info, take a look at the G3 development wikki.

For BGT, we are tracking a problem with falsing out Kivan's timer. We may have a strong need for an experienced BGT coder to help... please contact me when you can, because this seems to be trickier than we though originally.

Just to clarify: is it Kivan's timer that needs to be falsed out or Coran's? AFAIK, Kivan's hasn't been acting up, but Coran's has seen its share of trouble.

Well, I wish there was stuff to report that helped in RL/installable terms, but it is all internal so far. Kulyok has completed a tutorial on how to code/re-code dialogues and triiggers to avoid talks "hanging up" and going out of sequence, and has rebuilt all of the Romance code in-project to match the new template. I have whipped up a tutorial on cross-platform variables and coding (so we only have to have one set of files for both Tutu and BGT), and have rebuilt Kulyok's rebuild with the new variables. I have also recoded most of the Phase2 materials to match Kulyok's templates. Currently I am working on a complete recode of Dynaheir's and Jaheira's Quests to match Kulyok's template and to set up the cross-platform variables. Berelinde is mostly through recoding all of the Phase1 stuff a la Kulyok, and has been repairing bugs as she goes (there are always a few hidden away).

Challenges that have cropped up: BGT timers and no-condition states; reports of some of the falsed states we use on the Tutu side needing different handling on the BGT side (most notable Kivan and his Bandits, and possible Minsc). Jaheira's quest still gives troubles on both sides because I messed up some dialogue weighting; that should be fixed by the recode. Some content on both BGT and Tutu has been hidden from all users by internal timing and conflicting requirements, but berelinde is on that. Apparently, on one of the parts of Dynaheir's Quest, sometimes Winski doesn't tetport away - he just stands there not moving for all eternity. The biggest challenge = time available to mod.

Future needs - we are going to need some real solid BGT playtesters pretty soon.

hmmm... I don't know if this is the right place for bug reporting... if not, please forgive me. :unsure:

I am playing with beta4-pro5-3.

When I try to drag Ajantis's shield somewhere, it is difficult to place it where I would like because its "center" is on the top-left on the sprite -- I hope you understand what I mean :crying:

Hi Anomaly. I think that 'quirk' (not really a 'bug') is from BG1NPC and has been around awhile. It's probably due to the BAM file not having right measurements. I like the BAM, it has good detail and color, but it would nice if it fit properly.

I could definitely use a volunteer to fix up the .bam on this; items are outside of my specialty. If someone does, fix it up, please send it along at G3 or to svowles at comcast dot net, and I will include it in the next version!

May I suggest asking for help at Sol Ek Sa just here at Spellhold Studios, cmorgan ?

There are very competent and kind people there that had helped me before (thanks again, Plasmocat!) and they will fix your BAM to look good again! :cheers:

Simple fix, as I suspected. I didn't change the actual images, but the large frame in an inventory BAM has to be offset by half its dimensions or it will have the problem described above. I've seen this on a few other BAMs though none in BG1NPC I can recall - maybe someone smarter than I can think of a way to scan for this with WeiDU.

[P.S.: Change the hyphen to a # in the filename, otherwise my browser thought it was a bookmark and couldn't find the file.]

The answer to this is a guarded "yes."

We're involved in a complete recode, at the moment. It's taking longer than we thought it might, or at least I'm taking longer with my end than I thought I would, but there will be a new version closer to sooner than later, if that makes sense.

Latest run through BGT produced an error associated with BG1 NPC. I am using BGT 104 and BG1 NPC v.12 Beta 3. In Chateau Irenicus, when Jahiera reaches Khalid, rather than activating her normal script, she activates the script usually accessed by force-talking her with the protagonist. The script fires over and over again as long as she is in the area. Soon as she leaves the area, the script stops.

I have experienced no other problems along the way. Thanks for assistance and hope this info is helpful.
