Yes, slowgoing would be a possibility... I DID mention I'm a doom metal fan, didn't I?

I think you did, yes... Very doomy.

What? Making fun of Rammstein? Apart from the lousy cover art, the unskilled singer, the boring guitars, and everything, what's wrong with them?

Hehheh, truly a fan of melodies I see. :P
Ignoring their generally pervy lyrics, I think they're something an amusing bunch to listen to.

...

Hey, is this where that whole "Doomsong" thingy is coming from? Doom metal?

Oh, yeah, they have a few listenable songs... but the guitars really get boring on the long run. And where, oh where, are the double-kick basedrums!?!?

Hey, is this where that whole "Doomsong" thingy is coming from? Doom metal?

Nope. Well, not by my imagination anyway... If one of the guys at BioWare listens to Doom metal and thought a kobold bard ought to be inspired by that musical genre, then maybe it is ;)

Say... Have you heard Chimaira's Implements of Destruction?

So even in the game, the main character somehow profits from listening to the doomsong or enjoys it? :o

Say... Have you heard Chimaira's Implements of Destruction?

Nope. Doesn't ring a bell... although the title does sound promising! I'll give it a try some time. Hm, maybe my-boyfriend-who's-a-frenetic-downloader could find it somewhere for me.

So even in the game, the main character somehow profits from listening to the doomsong or enjoys it? :o

Well, it's Deekin's bard song, there's suddenly this cheap harp sound, and then he'll go "doom, doom-doom-doom" in that very rough voice of his... But yeah, your AC, to hit, dam, st, every stat you have will go up a good bit (the little lizard's still got near 23 CHA, after all). As for ENJOYING, I don't know. I certainly laughed a lot, but... ;)

Thought I'd make this bounce back up... I was getting depressed seeing so far down the un-updated-in-ages threads list.

And might I remind you, I like reviews! And I always answer to them and listen to constructive criticism!!! *cheap advertisement music* Er, hm, so yeah, please review :)

Heh, I'll be happy to give you a review, DalreiDal, although not so much on the constructive criticism because I really loved this new chapter. :D. The character interaction, revelations, and everything in general was perfect. . It was wonderful after such a long break between writing :). Please keep it up ^_^

Wow, I hadn't realized I missed that many chapters, DalreiDal. So sorry about that. I guess I have been really busy recently. It took me a while but I finish reading all the chapters.

Anyhow, I love the chapters you've posted. I enjoy reading Valen and Chama's interactions and how you skillfully uncover her past and I can't wait for more. 436 years old, that's one old elf, heeh. middle age really.

Btw, I hate the doom song but it amuses me when I heard it at first. I suppose, I'm now tired of it and Deekin. hehe.

Hey Shadowhawke, thanks for the review  This chapter is one of my favourites to date. It was a relief to write something that, while it wasn't a retelling of the game events, was still interesting (at least I hope so!). It was good too to write how Chama and Valen can get along when they're not urgently fighting for their lives. Less stressing to write ;) Thank you, thank you again for the review!

Hi Celestine! You get a big  and a big thank you too for the review!!! Chama's past won't be uncovered quickly, but I try to slip in little details here and there to keep the readers alert for more ;) Yep, Chama a 436 ans et encoure toutes ses dents. Considering I've made Chama a very powerful mage and she's a thief on top of that, I figure she needed to be older than 100 to have gathered all that experience! And it fits with her history too. Though that's classified information at the moment  .

Yes, you can tire of the doom song and of Deekin... Though Chama was in dire need of affection when she met him near Highcliff, and they're friends for life now ;) She just loves him and can't hate even his doom song after hearing it a thousand times. I'll try not to inflict it on readers too much ;) Again, thanks for the review, Celestine.

Looking good, DalreïDal. I do have to complain that you make me wait so long for an update.

Aww, you should make Charma drop Valen's amour. Her reaction should be so amusing. :P And I want to know who's the traitor is, so update soon. :)

*squee* I've got to say, DalreiDal, I've been longing after another chapter of this for what seems like ages... but I guess it's fair enough because real life is so busy at the moment. Hopefully everything clears up for you soon and good luck with the moving! But seriously, thank you for the new chapter. New intrigues, of course, and I am really interested in seeing how they're going to deal with this new problem, but also the interaction again, was beautiful. :)

Please, keep it up! ^_^

Wow! Three reviews in one night! Thanks so much!!!

Looking good, DalreïDal. I do have to complain that you make me wait so long for an update.

Hey Celestine. Sorry about the long wait, but RL is pretty demanding at the moment. Aside from the frenzy of work (we have to get that damned icebreaker packed next week), after a rather bumpy few months now I have a boyfriend who doesn't live 200km away, so that takes up much of my life, and if that wasn't enough, it's the music summer festival here in Québec, and I've started playing WoW. And I squeeze a few minutes of writing fiction here and there too. But I don't complain. A busy life isn't a boring life :)

Aww, you should make Charma drop Valen's amour. Her reaction should be so amusing. :P And I want to know who's the traitor is, so update soon. :)

Weeeell, I suspect she'll come to drop his armour at some point, but not right now... just being in the same room when he was disrobed was rather enough for the moment, lol. I promise I'll try to update as soon as possible. Thanks a lot for the kind words

I r with Celestine here. :o

Hi WeeRLegion! Thanks for the review... and yes, I like hurting my characters. Heck, they're adventuring and risking their necks all the time. It's gotta happen sometimes! Thanks for taking the time to review :)

Hey Shadowhawke. (btw, I swear I'll come to reading your new chapters soon) Just two or three more weeks of craziness, after that it should calm down until embarkment of personnel. The new intrigues won't last long (isn't Chama's style to let traitors run free for long), but the interaction should ;) Thanks for the review and the encouragement

Within eyesight it always is, my friend. :). I can't tell you how happy I was to see that you'd updated again, thanks so much! A wonderful (long!!!) new chapter to satisfy us with, and I must say that I was really impressed. I know that you'd been dropping hints before, but your revelations here rounded out Chama so beautifully as a character in my mind. She was already great before, but you've given her good depth here, as well as with all of your minor characters. Simply put, I really enjoyed all of this chapter, from Chama's scene with Gulhrys to the final one that rounded off your chapter nicely.

Now, all you need to do to make me happier is post again! ^_^

I did warn I was compensating for something, didn't I? :P

Thanks  The biggest revelation is still to come, but I'm glad you think Chama's character is well rounded. I've found it really hard to write a evil-past-then-redeemed character. It's been a great challenge so far... Let's hope I'll keep up to your expectations!

Hey, thanks  I'll try to post next chapter of Out of the Dark and the Mist in two weeks like I used to before my life was sucked into the great whirlwind of ship mobilization. Thank you so much for your constant reviews :)

Woo! Luved the new chapter DalreïDal (DD?) ;)

Sorry I haven't reviewed this sooner, I really loved that demonic side coming out at the most inopportune times, and Chama seems like a really interesting character to me. ^_^

At either rate, certainly looks like something beautiful can come outta a bad situation, undoubtedly things are bound to get interesting real soon. ^_^

Look foward seeing the next one DalreïDal. :D
Great work!

Woo! Luved the new chapter DalreïDal (DD?) ;)

Lol, well, no one ever shortened my name that way, but go ahead if you think people will still recognize me!

Sorry I haven't reviewed this sooner, I really loved that demonic side coming out at the most inopportune times, and Chama seems like a really interesting character to me. ^_^

Wow, thanks. I was afraid I didn't put in enough scenes of Valen's demon half, but since you seem satisfied with its appearances, maybe I shouldn't worry that much :)

At either rate, certainly looks like something beautiful can come outta a bad situation, undoubtedly things are bound to get interesting real soon. ^_^

Look foward seeing the next one DalreïDal. :D
Great work!

Hey, thanks a lot for that very pleasant review! I promise I'll try to update sooner and live up to your expectations. I really appreciate the kind words... It can be pretty discouraging when you don't know if anybody cares to read your stories anymore...

Thanks!

Ah just run off luck is what I say. :)
I wouldn't say it was a matter of people caring to read, but rather them finding the time to also comment on it. Anyways, you're very welcome, and don't worry about the expectations DD, just go with what you feel is right. ^_^

Cheers!
