I have a suggestion about rogue balancing but it is a house rule, not core rule.
I don't like thieves go invisible and backstab even in the middle of daylight! Like Promenade. I think u should limit the stealth option. U can use lightmap on every area. Adding a variable aplying extra stealth penalty. Maybe the game already aplies this but I think going invisible should be much hard. Consider Improved Ilyich mod! Thief comes, suprises me, uses a wand of paralyzation, holds me, backstabs me, goes invisble... This is not right. Even mages cannot to this without Staff of Magi and it is an artifact.
I think thieves should go invisble only in dark areas or during night, AWAY from city lights. Besides they should not be allowed to go invisble after first surprise attack. How can a rogue go invisible even in a dimly lit tight corridor during combat? Where he can hide in the middle of fight afterall? Stealth is not a spell like ability and they are not eteral ghosts. Stealth mode is not the ultimate method. It should only aid suprise roll and backstap opportunity. Going invisble just in front of me and BACKSTAB me is just unfair!
I hope IE permits such rebalancing.

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?
Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.
Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

In my experience enemy thieves rarely hide at all, they mostly use invisibility potions. Therefore I don't really see how changing their AI would affect their hide skill. The lightmaps that influence hiding are emended in small BMPs for each map separately IIRC.

I waqs only thinking that a time sensitive condition could be placed in their AI to time when they do or dont use it.
