they 'claim' it's incompatible because it isn't: dont even bother posting a bug report if you install BG1 UB and find yr install is broken. and no, there's no workaround. The creator claims it's not compatible, but I was wondering if anyone knows in what way it's not compatible, and if there's a workaround for it?
if yr installing BPv177, you don't need to install the Xvart fix, as it's already included; likewise, if yr installing the BPSeries, you don't need to install Gminion.

Hmm... There's really no workaround? Wouldn't it be possible to install BG1 UB on a clean, patched install of Baldur's Gate, possibly biff the Override folder to the Data folder, then have the quests and stuff of BG1 UB ported over during the BGT installation?
Just curious, of course.

But what about it is incompatible? It's weidu, so shouldn't it be fairly simple to correct, once tracked down? Of course, I'm not a coder, so there's a high chance of incorrect assumption.they 'claim' it's incompatible because it isn't: dont even bother posting a bug report if you install BG1 UB and find yr install is broken. and no, there's no workaround.
Cool, scratched those offif yr installing BPv177, you don't need to install the Xvart fix, as it's already included; likewise, if yr installing the BPSeries, you don't need to install Gminion.

Does anyone have something other than "nuh uh" and "omg impossible!" to add? I hope?
*Meaning at least a few that do similar things.

NO BG1 mods/ patches/ fixes work with BGT. none at all. the install instructions for BGT are extremely clear: you need a full, bioware-patched BG1 install, and nothing else: no baldurdash, no dudleyfix, nothing. anything else on yr BG1 install will break yr BGT install.Yeah, I gathered that much from the whole "BG1" part of it. Luckily, it seems mostly a scripting mod. So I don't see why all* the other BG1 things work fine with BGT, and this one doesn't.

if yr referring to, say, Sirines Call, BG1NPC, Indira, and other Tutu mods that have been converted to run on BGT - well, yes. Tutu, like BGT, uses BG2 resources. any Tutu mod can be converted to BGT withut too much drama - because they both get installed to yr BG2 directory, not yr BG1 directory.
if and when BG1 UB gets converted to Tutu, we can start work on porting it to BGT. or indeed someone could start porting the current, BG1-only version to BGT (after acquiring permission from the authors, of course). until then: nuh, uh, it IS impossible to use BG1 UB with BGT.

Don't you think we (the BGTplayers) want this as bad as you do?? Go over to PPG and see if they will let you convert it for BGT?? You will be our hero!!! I do know that when it is converted to Tutu then it will be easier to convert to BGT.

Yeah, I gathered that much from the whole "BG1" part of it.
You misunderstand, the mod title has nothing to do with it. In its current state, this mod cannot be installed on BG2 game. The version which exists at the moment can only be used with original Baldur's Gate I (the one which only runs in 640x480 resolution).

Although the easiest is still to wait for a TuTu version and then operate a BGT conversion...
Game Over Only on Party Dead (BGT/EasyTuTu/BG2)
WTP Familiars(BGT/BG2)

So far, nobody has explained anything, merely stated things I was aware of before starting the thread. But if you'd like to give me actual information, that'd be great. We can say whatever we want but there is no way for him to understand

Well the general answer is as simple as 'it's currently a mod for the BG1 engine, not the BG2 engine'. That's all there is to it really.
Once it's been converted to work with Tutu (which is the BG2 engine), it'll be easy enough to convert it to work with BGT (which obviously is also the BG2 engine). You could go straight to trying to convert it to work with BGT, but you might as well let as much of the work as possible be done by the people who made the mod, to make bug fixing a lot easier.

What information do you want to receive? If already you are an experienced modder then you should be able to convert this mod to BG2 engine without our help. If you aren't a modder, then there's no quick guide to teach you how to do this on your own. You must spend a month or two (if you're a quick learner), to understand the basics of writing mods for these two engines.
There's a separate forum here called "Infinity Engine Help Forums" to help modders and wanna-be-modders, any questions like "how do I change this or that", "what is this line of code for" etc. should go there.
Personally I don't see what's so special about this mod. Most its changes are minor corrections and restored dialogs - nice, but nothing that would make me wait months for the BGT conversion before I start playing.

You keep replying to my question of "why is the sky blue and not red?" with "Because it's blue". I KNOW it's a bg1 mod. christ. I just want to know what files I have to change to make it BGT or Tutu compatible. And you keep saying engine mod. It's not an engine mod. BGT is what I would consider an engine mod. This fixes minor scripts and dialogs. Far cry from engine.Well the general answer is as simple as 'it's currently a mod for the BG1 engine, not the BG2 engine'. That's all there is to it really.
See, right there. Convert to tutu and BGT. Exactly my question at the beginning. It's like pulling teeth :-pOnce it's been converted to work with Tutu (which is the BG2 engine), it'll be easy enough to convert it to work with BGT (which obviously is also the BG2 engine). You could go straight to trying to convert it to work with BGT, but you might as well let as much of the work as possible be done by the people who made the mod, to make bug fixing a lot easier.
I guess I'll have to just learn how on my own without any help. I'll read the forum pro5 suggests, I was just hoping that someone already had a solution from their own tinkering.
