How about compatibility issue posted by seanas on Dec 14 2005 in this topic? Was it fixed? Or its not a big problem and can be ignored.
My understanding is there are only a few minor inconsistencies with animations between CtB and NEJ2, so it should be just fine.

And if it just makes game easier, can I reinstall Refinements with their original 41st level ruleset and use my saves? I'm already at ~level 6.

erebusant, that thing with "50th level experience ruleset" really bothers me. Do I need to reach this level because the megainstall gets very difficult by the end of the game or it's been done to make the game easier?
And if it just makes game easier, can I reinstall Refinements with their original 41st level ruleset and use my saves? I'm already at ~level 6.
With the mega install there are alot more quests to do hence more experience. If you find the game too easy on normal (core rules) pump it up a level or use DefJam located at PPG to cut down on some of the experience rewarded for quests, creatures, locks/traps and spells.

Oh, no, thanks I'm not that advanced. I'll just stick to the riginal core rules and no exp limiting mods and if game gets too easy I raise difficulty level.
Can somebody explain me in two words what is the difference between Tutu 50th ruleset and those of TDD or Bp? And why the one is preferred over another. Thanks.

I took it from Tutu Tweaks because all of the other .2da files got biffed in the process of my install so I couldn't find them anywhere. The one in Tutu Tweaks was convenient and (most critically) it actually worked. I tried it with other .2da files from other mods that went up to 50th level, and got the type of errors at the begining of the game that I described in the workaround.

erebusant: little question if you don't mind. In workaround you suggested to multiply the highest exp value by number of kits you are playing so advancement will not be stopped. As i understood - when character reaches its possible 51 level and stop advancing, it will still get exp points. I dont exactly know how this system works in BG after one of carachters is reaching it's limit. Are exp points shared between carachters that didnt reach limit yet or still between all 6 of them? And for this reason , for example i want only dual Imoen to mage at thief level 6, shoud i just combine 51st level mage exp
and 6th level thief and and put this value in the XPCAP.2DA file?
XP are shared between all characters in the party. Dependent on how long a character is in your party will determine how many XP they get. You could have a party member maxed out and any others not at the limit will still accumulate XP. For a dual-class character, just double the limit. What you suggest for Imoen will work, but be certain you aren't running a multi-class character as they will be limited due to both (or all) classes accumulating XP and having them distributed evenly.

I followed by installing the DEFJAM_v3.exe and then problems started!: I have tons of errors that popped when I choose to modify the XP from the quests (modification to the XP from creatures and traps/spells didn't induce errors).
The errors are mostly:
"this expression has a typo in the second part: *Global*("","")"
Any one has an idea on what might have happened? What should I do next without hosing my previous smooth install?

Should I restart the Setup-xpmod.exe file (from DEFJAM) to complete the installation of the mod? (I did choose the Quit option after seing so many errors) or uninstall it first then reinstall again (how do I uninstall a mod?)

Just run the setup.exe again. For the options you have already installed select (N) for no changes and it will skip it and go on to the next option.
