If your talking about BP series I always do it near the end, right after BG2 tweak pack and it works fine for me there.

I think it matters little because BP takes over regardless of install order according to Sim. I tend to install the Quest Pack always before BP and right after UB. I try to always stick to the general rule of content, items, NPCs, quests, etc before BP and questpack being no difference. Make sure you do the workaround for Hell trials if you installed the fixpack. The link is someplace around here. If you install Kelsey NPC make sure he goes before Questpack though I no longer remember why :D

I've been trying in vein for two weeks now to get a modded version of BG running to no avail. I've read dozens of readme's, forums, and recommended installation orders and they all contradict and/or void each other out.

Here's what my last clean install looked like: (Note: Only Kits added were those from TDD no other kits were installed.)
Full SOA install
Full TOB install
Official Patch
G3 BG2 v. 2 Fix Pack (w/o Supper Modder and Aditional Script)
SOS v. 1.11
TDD v. 1.11
CTB v. 1.8
>Chores for G3 Fix Pack
>>Fast Forward v 1.1
TS-BP v 6.09
Unfinished Business v. 15 (w/o Minor Dialouge and Valygar/Suni)
Ascension v 1.4.21cz (v. 1.4.x needed for Kelsey, do not know what v. comes with BP)
Redemption v. 113 (Made change to .TS file. I now know this needs to go after BP)
Solaufein
Kelsey (SOA+TOB versions. Needs to go after Solaufein and Ascension 1.4.x, and before Keto and Quest Pack)
Keto
Saerileth
Banter Pack
Flirt Pack
Weimer Unrepresented
Weimer Item Upgrade
Quest Pack (w/o Creature/AI improvement. Now know this needs to go after BP)
Embers of Ashes v. 23
BP v. 1.77 (w/o Ascension)
>BP TOB Trigger Fix
>>Could not install S&H Patch v. 7

I'm doing a complete fresh re-install, please I know you are tired of hearing/reading the same question over and over, but I want to play already. What am I doing wrong? Is this set-up even possible? Am I missing a mod that would improve the game further? Please help!

Thanks.

Anomoly,

Thanks for the reply. I can't install the patch. The problem is without it I'm stuck with Nalia's ring in my inventory. I can't move it or dump it.

I fail to understand what's happening here. How could you be stuck with Nalia's ring in your inventory ?

The "s&h patch 7" was a patch for the old, non-WeiDU, Big Picture 161G. It has nothing to do with BP-WeiDU 177 family.

do you start the game with the ring in the inventory? If so I would suggest a reinstall from scratch.

I did a complete re-install. I dumped everything and and started over using install instructions from a number of sources (pocket plane, this forum, individual mod forums, etc.). It always happened to me as soon as I dump Nalia. It my last attempt it happened with Edwin's necklace as well. As soon as I dump the characters their items magically appears in my inventory and I can't move them. The patch is supposed to fix the problem but I can't install it.

Since my first post I again did a complete install and ran into bugs with CTB (game did not transport to Candlekeep) and TS (Yoshimo dialouge in dungeon goes screwie and he and some other character just leave w/o any interaction with party. He does not re-appear anywhere else in the game). So either my downloads are corrupted or some of these mods are just not made to work together.

Thanks for the help. I'd post a weidu log but I no longer have one. I e-mailed a debug log to Sean as per the error message instructions but the problem is still unresolved. Personally I think it has something to do with Ascension but I know nothing about scripts and mods.

Some mod is adding an 'unsellable' flag to the items. Do a search in your BG2 folder for 'misc89.itm'. Whatever mod is doing it, WeiDU should keep a copy of the file in the backup folder--this will narrow down the list of suspect mods.

Why is this Hypnotoad video so popu... ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.

Cam,

Thanks for the help. Is my install correct? Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong as opposed to the game just doing what it's prorammed to do. This will be my eleventh install and my second computer so I want to get this right :-).

I'm afraid you'll need to wait for one of the BP players to give it a look-over. I was just trying to help with the NPCs handing you stuff they shouldn't--the unsellable flag is really better described as 'quest'. Items with this flag are not destroyed by spells like disintegrate and forces party NPCs to give them to the PC when they're kicked out. It's generally used for items that the PC has to have to complete quests of the game (keys, wardstones, etc.) or other items that must stay with the PC/party (familiars, bags of holding, etc.). Edwin's amulet and Nalia's ring are not flagged as undroppable in a patched game so some mod must be changing them.

Cam,

Thanks again for the help. I've just plodded along with the thing in my inventory. It sucks having to lose a spot but I have no idea how to fix it so I'm resolved to having to play the game with it in my inventory.

The same thing happened to me, and all I've installed Mod-wise is BP, Sos, tdd, and ts- and that's w/o weidu.

Refinements
As seanas noted, before installing Refinements, copy the files XPCAP.2DA and XPLEVEL.2DA that were updated by BP, paste them into folder \Refinements\Hlab\_shared\copy (thus overwriting the existing files)

G3 Divine Remix
before installing Divine Remix, copy the file MXSPLPRS.2DA that was updated by BP, paste it into folder \Divine_Remix\cleric\copy (thus overwriting the existing file)

What about Divine Remix? There is no info about copy the file MXSPLPRS.2DA in first post. Maybe it's only need if I install Rogue Rebalancing mod?

As of v3.6 the Rogue Rebalancing mod is fully compatible with BP. The changes to the .tp2 which Azazello mentioned are no longer needed.

However, RR must be installed after BP in order for all quests to work properly.

NumLock,

if I remember correctly the latest Divine Remix version no longer requires that workaround in order to be fully compatible.

Also, please somebody correct me if I am wrong, that particular operation was only to be done IF you're playing TDD or you have the Level-50 rule optional component of BP installed.

I've not read that the latest version of D.R. has changed. It's still at version 5.

So the need to copy the files still exists. Of curse, I could be wrong.

Salk, I thought you used to have those instructions in the first post?

Azazello,

seanas has sometimes edited my original post and it's likely it was he who removed those instructions. However, I seem to recall CamDawg saying that procedure was no longer needed since version 5. But I might be misremembering.
