Continuing towards Infinity (in NearInfinity)

Hence, I am requesting an able-bodied, Java-knowledgable programmer to continue the production of NI; not necessarily at a revolutionary level, but at least to implement IESDP updates to the file structure definitions incorporated into NI. Permission from the author will be required first, and hopefully we can contact him somewhere some time out there in the middle of nowhere. Anyone up for the challenge? Any thoughts on this?

Smoketest has the latest(?) source; ask if he'll share.
The way it's written, it doesn't require any sort of expertise in Java to do the updates you're requesting.

I'll give Smoketest a try for the latest source.

The possibility that you'd be able to is more than distinct. Look at the source some time and see.Given that all my projects at the moment have to be submitted in Java, it's distinctly possible that I may be able to make some minor adjustments
'Tis true, NumCreatureVsParty() does not work. Bad IESDP, bad! Er, the IESDP isn't actually that bad, it's just light on the details of when and where something will choose to work; I still occasionally find things that even I didn't know. I much prefer the effect labels from NI than the IESDP, though.I have come to conclusion that the latter is entirely an amalgamation of what some people once guessed things might do).
Unless it was just a witty hint that you didn't test anything you contributed, in which case I've now devolved to full mental retardation. :)

Heh, I asked if I could work Ocaml in my curriculum and the teacher said that all functional programming languages are 'archaeological stuff'. Friday I'm going to turn up an optional assignment (interpreter for a simplified assembler) written in OcamlGiven that all my projects at the moment have to be submitted in Java, it's distinctly possible that I may be able to make some minor adjustments
I should pick up Java by next year, although for what little I saw of the language I despise it with all my heart.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOOHOO! What a Ride!

I'll probably abandon the IE games when NWN2 comes out later this year.
