Okay, I installed all bg1/2 with patches, then BGT, then DSOTSC-WEIDU then NTOTSC WEIDU, then tweakpack. But much of the DSOTSC and NTOTSC stuff is broken;
- when I try to go east from Peldvale, with Jet-Laya in my party, I just get the regular world-travel map
- I can't get to Fields of the Dead at all, it's not on the map.
do I need the ephemeral "World Map V5" or whatever?? I searched this download site for "map" and got no hits, where is it??
I see many different bgt/dsotsc/ntotsc versions for download, I used dsotsc V180 (or was it 182??) and ntotsc V142. I thought I had bgt V1.01, but I'm not sure now. I see a DSOTSC4BGT-BPV160.rar, I don't know what I need.
Can anyone advise??
BGT/dsotsc/ntotsc is broken

What you are missing is indeed the what you call ephemeral "World Map V5", yet I don't think it is that ephemeral at all.
You can get it here (and at some other places): http://iegmc.mirror....om.sg/worldmap/

Okay, I installed that, but the map in the game doesn't look any different now, nor have any new areas...
I bet I have to start a whole new game, don't I?? and throw out two weeks of work...

Afraid so. Your current game is stuck with the old world map. There may be a way to replace it (I've seen something way back when - in the old BP-BGT forum), but I don't have the knowledge.
Anyone out there know if it can still be done?

If you replace the map on your saved game it wont be updated with the areas you visitived. It takes a bunch of work to update the map by hand. Best if you start a new game.

You can fix the world map with dltcep, its not too hard if you are at least a little familiar with dltcep. Ive done this a couple times when new versions of the worldmap mod came out.
1-Open your save game folder and make a backup copy of worldmap.wmp somewhere in case you mess up.
2-Copy the worldmap.wmp from your BG2 directory and paste it to a temporary directory, like your desktop.
3-Open Dltcep, goto Edit->Worldmap (WMP)
4-choose load external map and pick the worldmap.wmp in your save game directory
5-Open another instance of Dltcep and load the worldmap.wmp that you copied in step 2. (Make sure you can keep track of which is which)
6-See the drop down box under the word area?
7-Select the first area on the the map from your saved game.
8-Select that same area on the new map.
9-On the new map, check the boxes (Visible, Visible from adjacent, Reachable, Already visited) so that they look exactly like the ones in the old map.
10-Repeat this for every area.
11-You might want to make some of the dsotsc/ntotsc areas visible and reachable since you already triggered the events that open them up.
12-Once your done, copy the new worldmap file and overwrite the one in your saved game directory.
Its either this or start a new game.

Well, I've been looking at "Check The Bodies", which looks fun, so I think I'll re-install and add that as well!!
