learn some basic stuff and you will see that it is not that complicated:
- learn how to use your commandline (or console)
- learn how to locate/manage/copy your files (understanding your filesystem-structure)
- learn how to edit some configuration-files (text/batch/tp2-files)
- learn what a batchfile ist
the only other option would be:
Don't use any mods at all:
Install BG1 + BG2 + Addons + patches.
Install and play EasyTutu first and
continue with BG2ToB
And maybe if you are really crazy you can install Baldurdash-Weidu before you play BG2ToB
this is how the world turns:
To drive a car you have to know when and how to use which lever and maybe you have to know where to fill some essential fluids
To use Boards like this you usually learn how to ues BBCode and have to know what an URL is if you want to add images
To use many BG-Mods you have to know some basic stuff about your Windows and the basic structure of the Mods

The vast majority of BG2 mods do not require knowledge beyond executing programs and pressing buttons on the keyboard. Requiring people to learn to edit TP2 files themselves is, in fact, a joke, and I wouldn't install any mod which asked me to.To use many BG-Mods you have to know some basic stuff about your Windows and the basic structure of the Mods
(On the other hand, I have been known to ask experienced players to do some find/replace editing to track down bugs, so. I just think it's worth providing a user-friendly install process.)

More than you would think, actually... I went through a number of threads, but i just ended up getting more confused as i kept reading.
...
2) NEJ2v42 + NEJ2v602 patch, and NEJ2 biffer if using BP-weidu (but see *note)
3) SoS v1.10/TDD v1.10/CtB v1.7 - in any order (but note: NEJ2 and CtB are not compatible atm: choose one or the other)
4) TS-BP v6.04.01
5) BGT-WeiDU v1.00, and NeJ2-BGT compat patch if using both NEJ2 and BGT
...
Wah? Biffer? And what do you mean, if using BP-weidu? Wasn't i supposed to download weidu versions for everything here?
The second link had a logfile attached... That i couldn't make sense of. I mean... I'm a casual gamer, and i don't know the first thing about code, me editing stuff is limited to PhotoShop only (everything else just makes me nervous). All one needs to do is take one of the smaller batch files, save it to a working location, then right click on it and "edit" to open it, then delete everything that is in it and copy and paste the appropriate code from the attached word doc into it, and then "save as" whatever you want to call it.
As you may have guessed, that didn't help me much either. I mean, do i have to manually replace a file here? What stuff falls under the 'one of the smaller batch files' category?
The third i actually came across several times thus far. Unfortunately, even though it (apparently) makes everything that needs to be done quite clear, i have no clue as to what .TP2 files are, what they're supposed to do or how i'm going to manage all of that without breaking the installation.
That, and it's filled with all kinds of stuff about editing setup files and removing and replacing lines and such. And 'biffing' again.
Other links you gave include more of the same: Stuff that all makes everything sound like it's basic knowledge (and, knowing me, it probably is), and then some stuff on TDD, that apparently fills up all the Kit slots. So in case a Mod i want to install happens to have a Kit, i get an installation error on somesuch?
Basically, the only thing i DID manage to figure out was that all the Mods i wanted to install post-Tutu are compatible with BP-weidu. Yay me.
Let me say this again: I am an installation noob. The type of person for whom 'Installing something' means they sit behind a screen holding a CD/DVD/whatever until the computer asks for it. And if there's an error, the extent of their abilities is 'looking for a patch somewhere'.
What i want is to know if the order i'm trying to install everything in won't cause any problems, without having to end up doing something i'm not used to just to get it to work.
Appreciate the stickies and everything, but i guess i'm just more noobish than most out there.
I believe that you should try installing each and every mod that you want. Why? Simple. When I first came here, I was a n00bish as you. I didn't know squad about modding or anything, but I really, really wanted to play all those great mods. Back then, I didn't even know how to unzip something! How did I learn? I read the topics, asked my questions, and tried my best. I had to do 6 re-installs just to get TuTu to work back then, but in the end, it worked.
If I were you, I'd try to install everything in the order that seems the most sensible for you at the end. It might fuck everything up, but then, at least, you will have learned what not to do

This looks OK. The order is:
- Baldur's Gate (full install)
- BG: Tales of the Sword Coast (full install)
- Baldur's Gate II (full instal)
- BG2: Throne of Bhaal (full install)
- Official Patch Galore
- EasyTutu (latest)
- Make sure you install all those below here on the EasyTutu install
- Tutufix v.17 you'll have to check with Macready to see if this works on EasyTutu. I don't think it does. Check over at Pocket Plane Group.
- BG1NPC v11 (requires Tutu)
- BG1: Unfinished Business (Tutu version planned, but not yet released) Yes, unreleased, so I guess you can't install this
- BG2: Unfinished Business v2 No, don't use this. You can't even play BG2 in EasyTutu
- EasyTutu Degreenifier v4
- EasyTutu Spawn Randomiser v2
- BaldurDash v1.5 (WeiDu)
- BaldurDash English-Language Game Text Update v1.2 (not sure if i need this: placed first to avoid problems) Don't use this. The Baldurdash-WeiDU does everything this one does but better
- BaldurDash Fixpack v1.12 (SoS compatible) Don't use this. The Baldurdash-WeiDU does everything this one does but better
- Shadows over Soubar v1.10 (WeiDu)
- The Darkest Day v1.10 (WeiDu)
- Baldur's Gate Trilogy v.1.00 (WeiDu)
- Dark Side of the Sword Coast v1.81 (Weidu)
- North Side of the Sword Coast v1.42 (WeiDu)
- Revised BP-BGT Worldmap v5 Required for BGT-WeiDU compatibility with The Darkest Day and Shadows Over Soubar
All I can say is good luck.

Sim, 'you da man', as always. Gotta say though that I don't know of any mod that requires you to edit TP2 to play. That's only needed in case there's a problem in the file. I using (at least) one mod with the D0-stamp-of-approval that needs an edited TP2. (This is not the first time, nor will it be the last.)The vast majority of BG2 mods do not require knowledge beyond executing programs and pressing buttons on the keyboard. Requiring people to learn to edit TP2 files themselves is, in fact, a joke, and I wouldn't install any mod which asked me to.
Also gotta say that if you use a computer and don't know how to use a text editor or search for files, you probably shouldn't be trying to play BGT +/- BP +/- mega-mod installation.

To be honest, the 'one Mod' i figured i'd try was BP, then things got kind of messed up because i didn't know whether or not the Mods (DSotSC, NSotSC, SoS) were included with the BP installer.
Anyway, downloaded those, downloaded BP... Deleted the installers and downloaded the WeiDu ones... Things just went along from there.
@Ascension64: Thanks, that final check on the installation order was what i was looking for . As for Tutufix v17:
Tutufix v17 Released
Thanks to EasyTutu mastermind Macready, we have a new Tutufix friendly with both the classic and EasyTutu installs. It is functionally equivalent to Tutufix v15, but will improve performance with current and future versions of EasyTutu
It is .

If you really are having so much trouble with the instructions in the links, you're not ready for heavily modded BG games. You may not be ready for ANY modded game. You are definitely not ready for BGT or BP. Don't go there.
I think we should be encourage people that more people want to try BGT or BP. Sometimes the user documentation can be confusing, especially when your dealing with so many mods and readmes and posts about compatibility issues, but its only natural for people to ask questions like these.
Right now I'm doing the same thing: using both TUTU and BGT, to maximize on the available content for both platforms.
Three features that make EasyTUTU worth having on your hard-drive
1. Ease of installation
2. The BG1 NPC project: (New updates and bug fixes are usually available for TUTU first, then to BGT)
2. BG style GUI interface (with the old school stone and such)
Three reasons to have BGT in addition
1. The designers of TUTU made some strange decisions with joinable NPCs (fighting styles and thieving proficiencies etc.) that can unbalance the original game. The BGT NPCs more closely resemble the ones in the vanilla BG1.
2. Some of the material included in BG1 Unfinished Bussiness, is addressed differently in the BG1 NPC project (Kivan and Tazock etc.) There are also incompatibilities between the BG1 NPC project and other mods for the Original BG game, DSotSC for example. IYou can check out the UB material and other BG1 mods on the BGT platform (to spice up the BG1 part of the game) and the BG1 NPC project on TUTU. That's what I plan to do at any rate B)
3. BGT uses different weapons and equipment models than TUTU so the games look slightly different. (I find that I like the variety in the aesthetics.)
My suggestion would be to get a solid TUTU build up and running first and aim to avoid frequent re-installations. Keep it as clean as possible so that when new material comes along you can update it rather than reinstall eveything. Then install BGT, and load up as many compatible mods as you can find. The people at Spellhold are pretty good about compatibility documentation, so sometimes its easier to get everything working together under the BGT platform then it would be with TUTU. This link might help
Good luck and have fun breathing new life into an old game.
