I haven't played BG - BG II in a very long time but I wanted to play through it again. I've been looking through all the mod forums and found a lot of cool things (like being able to play BG1 with the BG II engine) but I'm so confused with all the options available now (not to mention all the abbreviations). Please forgive me in advance for my questions. I visit a lot of forums and know how annoying newbie questions can be.
What I wanted to do was play BG I (and Tales of the Sword Coast) with Dark Side of the Sword Coast (which I'm familair with) and Northern Tales of the Sword Coast (haven't played before) and combine it with BG II (and ToB) along with The Darkest Day (the big version, not the one listed in the main page) and SoB. I also use to install some Baldurdash things but I cant remember which.
What confuses me is that there are so many download links for the DSotSC and NTotSC mods. The one on the main page seems to be different than the one in the forums. There was a user's sig that had a more updated one but had 2 versions of each mod and I have no idea which one I need.
Which versions are the one I need and which mod do I use? The BP - BGT one? The BGT mod by itself? Also, in the forums for DSotSC/NTotSC theres also something about a fix due to missing files. Do I need those or do the most up to date versions have them?
Any help would be appreciated and sorry for the newbish questions.
PS.: Are there any other big mods that you guys would recommend aside from the ones I mentioned? I'm more interested in things like new areas/quests and whatever items and spells the mods come with rather than stand-alone spells/item mods. Also, I usually start my game in multiplayer mode and make my own party rather than use game or player created NPCs so I'm not too interested in NPC mods.

Allright, first for the newest versions of pretty much every mod, a good site is this one:
http://america.iegmc.net/
note that this is the american one
What you need to play Baldur's Gate 1 with the Baldur's Gate 2 engine is what's called the Baldur's Gate trilogy mod. This is the newest version: BGT-weidu and the actual file is called BGT100-Install.rar
Now with that, you want to add the baldurash fix called baldurash-weidu v1.5.
The other BG2 great and very big mod is the big picture (newest is called BP176.rar)
The big picture includes various fixes, a vastly improved AI and a lot of other great stuff.
The great thing about BP is that it is compatible with the other big mods : The darkest day(TDD v1.10), Shadows over soubar(SoS v1.10), Check the bodies(Ctb v1.7), Tortured souls(TS-BP v6.04.01) and Never ending journey(NEJ2 v42 +patch NEJ2 v602). (Note that you have to choose between Check the bodies and the Never ending journey since they are not compatible)
All these mods includes a lot of new quests, encounters, Npcs and a lot more.
You'll also need the worldmap v5
A good link for install order and compatibilty is this one:
http://www.shsforums...showtopic=18294
but in general it goes a little like this
1) BG2+ToB+patch26498 and BG1+TotSC+patch5512
2) BD-weidu v1.5 (the baldurash fix)
3) Ctbv1.7, TDDv1.10, SoSv1.10 (if you're going for Ctb instead of NEJ wich is what I personally like...)
4) TS-BPv6.04.01
5) Any other compatible mod (make sure they are or you can ask me and I'll try my best)
6) BPv176
7)BP-BGT world map v5

I cannot stress that as much as it might be a great download mirror, IEGMC is probably a pretty awful place to go to actually *find* mods in the first place. What's hosted there is a minute sample of what's available. Use this instead:Allright, first for the newest versions of pretty much every mod, a good site is this one:

http://modlist.pocketplane.net/
You may find the BG2 Quest Mods section of interest.
