I adore Edwin as NPC, the bad thing is i play as paladin, having a 20 point reputation.
Could you make Edwin stay even though he's a bad guy? say.. for love? :ph34r: :D

LOL! Always great to hear from another Edwin lover! Interestingly enough I have played a paladin myself, with 20 rep and Eddie in the party, and though he grouched more than once he never left me.

Not sure whether that was due to my PC:s high Char or True Love. :D Anyway, it should be doable, and I'll refer your question to Dorotea.

I'm not sure it takes even that much, it seems to work with Char 19 or so...possibly even lower. However, if you reform the party and remove the character in question (though of course I wouldn't remove Edwin ;) ) then he or she will leave.

Now, I flinch far from the concept of claiming to be an expert, or even knowing for sure what I'm talking about--but in my experience, I think even a simple Chr of 18 might suffice.

My basis for this is simply the fact that I was playing a Chaotic Good human Wizard-Slayer in ToB with a Rep of 20 and reliable ol' Sarevok, though he certainly made his displeasure known, never once took it upon himself to depart.

However, I only picked up BGII and ToB a couple months ago <_< Sadly I'm a n00b in that regard, and all this talk of CLUA-Console stuff still boggles me, so it could be simply a plot sort of thing, or whatever.

...but I thought I'd add my two cents anyway, in hopes that perhaps someone can educate me. u.u

In ToB, no one leaves you, no matter what your reputation. I did the opposite- I somehow managed to get the maincharacters rep down to 1 (totally by accident =_=- he just started with low rep and it kept going down as I did the evil quests); but although Imoen, Kelsey and Anomen surely complained the whole time, none of them left. I suppose my bloody ways just grew on them. ^^;

One thing that struck me- as the Edwin romance isn't limited by charisma, it's possible that the main character might have one below nine. If he does end up falling in love with the PC, could you do something to stop him from leaving the party running if you choose to battle Fikraag or however his name is spelled? It's not exactly a nice thing for him to do, you know. ;)

Yes, we've set it up so that if Eddie is in love with you he won't run out on you due to any reputation or charisma issue. The only way to make him do that will be to break his heart and be really cruel to him. :)

*blinks* I had no idea this was even possible. Edwin is supposed to leave the party if you have Char below 9 and go to fight Firkraag?

Yes, that seems to be a possibility. Shall I do something to fix that?

"That sounds like quite the inconvenience, though it doesn't seem too hard to alter.", says one with little mod experience other than playing. ^_^ *taps own chest*

What's that ? :blink: I had Edwin in my party twice and he never left, although I had always chosen to battle Firkraag... :huh:

What's that ? :blink: I had Edwin in my party twice and he never lived, although I had always chosen to battle Firkraag... :huh:

Perhaps Edwin was too far away. Dragons have this tendency to sometimes start dialogue with much of the party still being too far away to participate. Alternatively, perhaps you had high enough charisma, Edwin only leaves if charisma is 8 or lower.

Oh, that's the answer, my main characters always had a high enough charisma. B)

Yes, please. :) I would appreciate if you could fix it so that this doesn't happen if the romance is '1' or '2'.
