Gah! Bugs! (Some Annoying!)

I finished the bandit camp and returned to Beregost with over fifty scalps. I talked to Officer Vai and she and her guards returned to Baldur's Gate...without even bothering to check if I had any more scalps .
Ascension, if you haven't fixed this for v1.00, could you, would you, please, please, pleeeeeeese set her to check for scalps before leaving? After all, she is the one who told you to collect those ... unpleasant ... items.

Waahh! Horred - if you're still reading this thread - can you PM me please because I have just changed all of the BG1 summoned cre AI scripts as part of the update to my party co-operation scripts. We should be able to figure out something that will allow your possible changes and mine to co-exist.[NOTE: I haven't touched BG1 CRE's yet, (in a way I have, just not specific CRE's)--but that component is only a matter of time away.

Who told you that that's a bug?I'm reviving this thread since I can't find the one I'm looking for, and this is more an annoyance than a bug .

From the time I leave Beregost after talking to her, I never return until after the Bandit Camp is wiped out. She should at least have the decency to pay for what you've collected before departing.
Therefore, my Vai request - check for scalps, buy scalps, leave for BG.
Edit: In BG1, Officer Vai also buys wyvern heads and winter wolf pelts at full price, and remains unless you talk to her without any scalps in your inventory.
My request is have her check the party inventory before leaving, giving a chance to sell those ... trophies of battle.

Did I say bug? It's an annoyance. Vai sends you out to collect scalps, then doesn't pay you for collecting them.

I agree, BGT should be always more BG1 like (or not different from BG1 ) ... officer Vai actually has a different behaviour,
just my 2 cents,

We're here to fix bugs, not annoyances.
The largest annoyance for me personally is a hard battle with Tanar'ri at the end of TotSC - I've replayed it several dozens times last game run. But that doesn't matter that it should be FIXED.
And I like the way it's done right now. All those "annoyances" introduce some moments of the real life where not everything is as someone would like it to be.
Do you think Vai likes to pay you for the scalps? I guess she wouldn't bother herself with such stuff if it wouldn't be her job. And as soon as you finished those bandits why does she have to pay you still? She can report to her bosses about completed task and save some money for the dukes (or even for herself). And who u r to blame her?
So, get used to it or die....

I have a multiclassed fighter/cleric half-orc, with 20 con (book of con). Each level I'm getting is only giving me 1 hp a level. I've talked to a friend who plays D&D and he says that it's not quite right.. Wondering if anyone else is having this.
I'll post my weidu-log if necessary.

The ID's are all screwed up for it. It's set as [ENEMY.HUMANOID.HUMAN.MAGE]. Should be [ENEMY.UNDEAD.WOLF.WOLF_VAMPIRIC].
How did I find this out, you may wonder? When it started cursing at my archers, and charging them. The BP-weidu script does a check on this block for:
OR(2) General(Myself,HUMANOID) General(Myself,GIANTHUMANOID) CheckStatGT(Myself,7,INT)
to try and avoid such silliness. Naturally, they also have every stat set to the default lazy bioware setting of 9.
I of course suspected a glitch in my scripts somewhere, at first---a wolf is a wolf is a wolf, right? I was sure even bioware's backroom crew could figure that one out!
Not a big deal; fix it if you remember it/find time.
Their "undead" status alone might come in handy for more than just talking BP scripts.

That's probably right if you're at around level 10ish. I forget exactly what level, but at some point you start to get only 3HP per level (to stop you having silly HPs). As a multiclass character that's divided by two and rounded down. Since that's pretty much the only downside to multiclassing in BG, I'd say it's not too bad a deal . You do get the full con bonus retroactively for previous levels though, however the bonus for con 20 is the same as con 19, even for fighters (non-fighters have no use for a con above 17, for nome reason).Wondering if this is the best place to post it (would rather post it here than a new thread).

I'd rather have a look at your HPxxx.2DA files, TBH. I added the TutuTweaks component for Max HP, and saw some funny things in my files. I experimented with these files last night, and learned a thing or two as well.

This has been a part of D&D since its inception. I have a copy of Blackmoor Campaign and Chainmail ruleset (the original "pre-boxed set" D&D, c. 1975)--and it was the exact same way. Only in 3E (or is this exclusive to NWN?) did this change.
The CON cap for non-fighters is meant to be a perk to the wearrior class. Remeber, hit points is more than your pure physical brutality. It is a combo of this and skill, instincts, reflexes, and a little "heroic good fortune". Non-fighters do have natural regeneration to look forward to at least, should their CON get high enough.

My guy at 149 hp really only has to worry about failing his saves and not get Held or Mazed or some such, can wade into a group of melee NPCs and walk out of it just fine.
(I'm relatively still a newb to the entire rules of D&D, so.. yeah!)
