How can I tell if a mod is weidu or not?

I already played most of BG1 with DTOTSC and NTOTSC, but for some reason, the guy from SOBH did not appear in the temple.  Will start again.

However, I would like to install many more BG2 mods, like: Saerileth, Improved Asylum, Imoen Romance, Enhanced SOA v.11 (does anyone know what this is?), Nathaniel, Refinements, and Tactics.

I KNOW that questions similar to the mods have been asked, but none were really related to them.

I am also installing SOS, TDD, TS, DSOTSC, NTOTSC, SOBH, TGC and Sirine's Call to really have a full set.

Thanks in advance.

And can someone tell me what needs to be done regarding the music/song files of any of the above mods that would interfere with BGT?

If you plan to install all of these mods, you better check on the installation instructions. Several of them need to be installed before BGT-Weidu. Everything on the list looks like it uses Weidu (that I know of). Any mod that you find which has been updated or still supported by the author is probably using Weidu to install it. Only the older mods (3 or more years ago) are still in an non-Weidu format. Even then you can install them, but they have to be installed first and usually you can only install one of them (except for item mods or other small mods). Older mods that change dialogs or areas usually can't be installed together.

Tired of Bhaal? Try some classics mods instead:

Thanks for the reply, yet I am now more confused.

According to SConrad's post, he states that Weidu mods should go after BGT Weidu. He might be referring to mods that affect BG1, but I cannot be sure. Could you PLEASE bear with me on this matter? :crying:

Can I uninstall BGT Weidu only, or would you recommend that I re-install all from the beginning. I already have SOS, TDD and TS installed, and having to go through the procedure again is quite long. But I am willing to do it to play this excellent mod :D

I am not sure what you exactly did
- if you installed SOS, TDD and TS after BGT I would advise a completely new install. - you might try uninstalling them all, then reinstalling them in the correct order, but even though it's all weidu I would be suspicious of that.

Correct Order:

1) ToB+offic. patch
2) BDash-WeiDU (or G3 fixpack). - choose one only
3) SoS v1.05/TDD v1.05 - any order
4) CtB-TDD fix for TDD v1.05
5) CtB v1.6
6) TS-BP v6.04 (it doesn't like CtB to be installed after)
7) Deactivate (uninstall) GUI-switcher - choose "Original SoA/ToB" item - or uninstall 4 times
8) BGT-WeiDU, then DSotSC, then NTotSC, then SOBH, then BGNPCv11, then other mods in any order
9) Worldmap v5
10) Fixes for SoS, TDD, TS-BP
11) If you want you may activate preferable GUI at this point:
- run GUI-switcher once to activate automatically GUI of the last mod from SoS/TDD/SoS/BGT/CtB set;
- run it again to choose manually necessary GUI.

My install procedure was correct. In fact, I can confirm that the game had worked very smoothly, but I had only used BG 1 Mods, and TDD. The BG 1 mods included DTOTSC, NTOTSC, SOBH, TGC, Sirine's Call, BG1 Banter. Again, for anyone out there, this worked perfectly well.

My BIG question now is this: Do the BG2 mods go BEFORE BGT Weidu (as stated in your first reply) or AFTER BGT Weidu (as stated in your second reply).

I understand it can get tiresome for you, especially if the reply should be so obvious. Your replies are greatly appreciated.

Also, if I install Nathaniel and Saerileth (I assume they both have soundsets), would this conflict with BGT Weidu. If yes, is there anything I can do which will still let me play both BGT Weidu and these two mods?

Thanks in advance

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

The BIG BG2-mods - like TDD, SOS,TS,CTB,... before BGT

The SMALL BG2-mods - like Nathaniel and Saerileth (Kelsey, Questpacks, whatever) after BGT and after DTOSTC, NTOTSC, BONEHILL and BG1NPC - they are considered part of the 'other mods' in step 8 of the installation order. (as are small BG1 mods - whether it is a BG1 or BG2 mod does not really matter in regard to installation order)

For instructions about music problems (soundsets like voices are never a problem) look at the pinned BGT-compatibility thread - it has some instruction for that in the first post (TACKLING SONGLIST.2DA PROBLEMS).
Saerileth is listed as fully compatible so there shouldn't be any problems there.
Nathaniel is not listed, not as compatible, not as incompatible, so I don't know about that. Never tried it either. Try at your own risk.
I suspect the only problem that might arise is the songlist 2DA - so maybe check if there is anything after the 'BP4.MUS' after you have installed it and - (if so - erase that - but look at the detailed instruction in the aformentioned thread)
- I can't check because I don't have the Nathaniel mod on my comp.

Brilliant!! As soon as I get home, I will install the mods. I will also report back any errors or incompabilities I might come across.

Many many thanks
