I always install the old
bg1 baldurdash fixes and tweaks, but I am very glad to know that I don't have to.
Well seems to me that
BGT-
Weidu is just perfect. I recommend it to anyone (played it through a few times).
But I'm sad to hear that tactics isn't compatible with the "new" mods. I love that mod over all, it makes the game challenging, and without BP-
Weidu the game would be to easy for me, even on insane.
Than I have to wait till BP-
Weidu is ready.
seanas: 28 is a mod that replaces the "cre" files of the
BG2 npc's to
npc's which are totally identical with them except their classes, and they haven't leveled up (they have the
XP but are still on level 1, that way you can choose their weapon profiences). It is totally bug free and IMHO totally compatible with any other mod I have played.
Don't do a BG1 Baldurdash. No BG1-style fixpacks will work with BGT-WeiDU, because a fixpack is included in the core installation. I think it looks fine otherwise. You'd have to try it to find out whether it really works...
similarly, BG2-style fixpacks. i don't recognise 28, but it's likely unnecessary (yr playing from the start of candlekeep, after all); 29 is included (in a non-install-breaking-form) in Unfinished Business, 31 and 32 (and i think, 30) are included (in non-install-breaking-form) in Ease of Use - so install this instead *+(any time between steps 14 and 22 inclusive), 33 is in BD-weidu, and 34 i also dont recognise, but again: overwriting mods are bad, they'll break things (TDD, for example, now goes up to Level 50 - i highly doubt an old TeamBG fix includes support beyond Level 40).
also, Tactics (and possibly other old mods) install older - and now superceded - versions of the required IDS files. if you don't comment out these install routines from Tactics, or dont manually remove from yr override folder any IDS files it installs, you'll find yr game is a lot easier than you expect, as all the monster combat scripting will be looking for actions that no longer exist in yr game (ie, they may well stand around doing nothing whilst you kill them).
