By the way does enybody know why can't you resurect your main caracter, I mean it's just stupid that you die if a beholder turns you into stone, what is so difiucult in beeing zapped back by one of your partymembers?????

To protect from Imprisonment, you should cast Spell Immunity (wizard), and then choose "abjuration". Or you may have a Berzerker enrage. Or more I do not recall now.

For the 'petrification on Player1 makes you end your game' thing, you might be interested in The Bigg Tweak Pack - Petrification fix and Imprisonment fix.

Spell Immunity: Abjuration, Berserker Enrage, or Spell Trap.

Because Children of Bhaal disintegrate upon death as their essence returns to Bhaal--remember, like Sarevok did at the end of BG1?

(SPOILER doesn't because SPOILER wasn't a Child of Bhaal in BG1.)

Shouldn't this be in the BG section?

Anyway, in pnp, the best defense against imprisonment is to not get on the bad side of any being capable of using such magic. Failing that, don't allow said being to finish casting it, or just make sure it does not get the opportunity to touch you.

In pnp imprisonment has a range of touch and demiliches do not have such an imprisonment ability. They just used the spell to duplicate the trap the soul power of the demi-lich, which is far more potent than imprisonment.

Others have mentioned typical strategies for BG that work. One thing that I've done is to simply send a bunch of summoned monsters in first and let them get imprisoned, suplimenting that with some party members, if needed.

Use a scroll of Protection from Undead if it is a Demi Lich casting Imprisonment...
