I always thought that in BG getting high reputation was really easy and it was never a big deal if you killed someone.
A while ago I played FoTD and that greatly increased the cost of raising reputation. It make the game more interesting because rep was actually a factor and gaining rep from quests was helpful instead of pointless.
Wouldn't mind seeing it added to the bgt tweaks if you agree.
Tweak Idea - reputation

Hmm... whom are you killing? Everyone worth killing is killable w/o disastrous rep losses. Also getting rep back is easy thru quests. Anyone really raising rep in temples?

Sometimes if I get caught stealing I might kill a person or a guard and then just run to the temple and raise it back.

More than tweaking ingame reputation, I'd be counting on SimDing0's Virtue Mod to give some depth and consistency to the game...Too bad it's only for BG 2...
Cursed Items (BGT/EasyTuTu/BG2)
Game Over Only on Party Dead (BGT/EasyTuTu/BG2)
WTP Familiars(BGT/BG2)

I completely agree with Salk on this point, a Virtue mod for BG1 would be perfect - maybe if I would have some more time... I have been thinking about creating it, to be honest, but honestly douldn't really set myself to doing it - don't know how difficult it is to code, either - but maybe if you all start bugging me enough.
I get irritated with BG1 reputation increases sometimes too. Why does helping a dryad save her tree, cause a reputation increase - is she going to Baldur's Gate singing and screaming about your good deeds- and my neutral nature loving characters hate a reputation of 20.
