Why combine them at all. Let the BG1 purists keep Tutu and the people that like the continuity keep BGT. Sometimes if I want to just play BG1 and dont have alot of spare time I use Tutu and when I feel like a longer campaign I use BGT.

:D /me waits to get flamed from everyone.

Of course we ain't going to flame ya, but I am going to have to say: "DIE YOU EVIL AND MERCILESS BRINGER OF ILL IDEAS!" ;)

No, seriously, I'd personally like to play BGT, I just like TUTU better, but it's still sad to play BG without BGT :(

So the merging would be like heaven for me.

The biggest benefit of a merger would be access to the full set of mods on both side, and a common modding language. Those who think WeiDU is not as versitile as the several languages of TUTU, please remember that it's full potential has yet to be reached and the various creative minds out there may just suprise us all at what it (and they) can do.

Something I thought I'd brielfy point out, to avoid possible confusions:

- The WeiDU program is written in Ocaml.
- The code for the Tutu conversion (called "Weimorph" by some) is based on WeiDU code; it is also written in Ocaml.
- Tutu mods are made with WeiDU, they're not in a different language.
- The language issue is not really one to do with mods for Tutu/BGT, it is because the Tutu converter was written in Ocaml which not many people in the community know. Which is why it might be more convenient if future stuff used WeiDU instead of Ocaml.

^ So I agree with what you're saying in a sense of using WeiDU would mean more people would be able to alter the code for the conversion itself, but I am not entirely sure what you're getting at with the several languages/WeiDU potential bit.
