I found it boring.
Publicly stating: "Indeed Ace, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you found PS:T boring then that is your right."
Privately thinking: ... ...
Hehe...
(on a serious note, I can see how some people would find PS:T dialogue-heavy and a little slow - I am just not one of them )

I liked PS:T for the dialogues when I played it for the first time, but I never could bring myself to really play it again. I tried a few times and never got out of Hive.(on a serious note, I can see how some people would find PS:T dialogue-heavy and a little slow - I am just not one of them )
What I didn't like about PS:T was a poor character creation system, depleted AD&D and
boring combat. And spell animations.

Hey, you can't have everything! For me story is the most important thing, then npcs, then roleplay possibilities, then setting (Planescape**), then the rest. Though I actually like the spell animations. Also I don't see anything bad with the character creation system... Actually I don't see a 'creation system' at all - you are the Nameless one. You can choose his way, but you are HIM. If you prefer creating new characters, play other games^^'... That, or I misunderstood you. Happens^^'.

Well, as you askedBut... The voicing in PS:T is what makes it so great?
Let us look at the voice acting talent used for all the main characters (PC, joinable NPCs and major non-joinable NPCs) in the game:
Voice Cast List
- Nameless One (voice) : Michael T. Weiss ... (played lead character Jarod in the TV series "The Pretender", plus did the voice for Disney's animated Tarzan)
- Morte (voice) : Rob Paulsen ... has provided voicing for more animated series than I could possibly mention (oh, and Anomen as well!)
- Fall-from-Grace/Deionarra (voice) : Jennifer Hale ... another A-list animation voicing specialist (e.g. Bastila from KotoR)
- Annah (voice) : Sheena Easton ... one-time popular and successful Scottish singing artist (sung the Bond theme "For Your Eyes Only"), provided voicing for regular characters on animated series such as "Gargoyles"
- Dak'kon (voice) : Mitch Pileggi ... probably best known as Assistant DIrector Walter Skinner from the X-Files, also had major roles in more recent series such as Stargate:Atlantis
- Ignus (voice) : Charles Adler ... Buster J Bunny from Tiny Toon Adventures, as well as "Chicken" from Cow & Chicken!
- Nordom (voice) : Dan Castellaneta ... Homer J Simpson ('nuff said!)
- Transcendent One (voice) : Tony Jay ... one of the most recognisable voices around, narrated "The Bards Tale" and "Warcraft" as well as providing voices for Icewind Dale (remember Kresselack?) and others (Paracelcus from "Beauty and the Beast" TV series comes to mind)
- Trias (voice) : John de Lancie ... "Q" of Star Trek fame
- Vhailor (voice) : Keith David ... voiced the lead character "Spawn" in the animated series, prpbably best recognisable as the Priest from Vin Diesel's "Riddick" films.
Does that answer your question?

Why?Hey, you can't have everything!
I'm talking about the character creation system being poor - it doesn't offer much options like Talents (AD&D equivalent of Perks/Feats) for example. Also, since they changed character creation and developement they could come up with something more plausible and elastic than switching classes. Also I don't see anything bad with the character creation system... Actually I don't see a 'creation system' at all - you are the Nameless one. You can choose his way, but you are HIM. If you prefer creating new characters, play other games^^'... That, or I misunderstood you. Happens^^'.
I'm not talking about creating a new character other than Nameless One, of course.

And yes, indeed, to each his/her/its own. We all have our own opinions and it's silly to think that placing an intelligent sounding argument will persuade others to suddenly change their way of thinking.
As for voice actors...A list? Well known maybe...doesn't always make them good voice actors.

Let us look at the voice acting talent used for all the main characters (PC, joinable NPCs and major non-joinable NPCs) in the game:
Voice Cast ListIn other words, every single main character in Planescape was voiced by an A-list voice actor, and a greater proportion of lines in PS:T were voiced than other similar games (and I include the BG series, Fallout, Icewind Dale, etc. in that list.

Does that answer your question?
It wasn't really a question Kalthorine
It was an answer to Acefes who said she didn't like the voiceacting, to which I replied that was one of the best things in PS:T
@Gabrielle: What about the truly epic story? The insane amount of quality dialogue? Nvm, I guess Acefes is right. Taste is taste.

The Wizardry series. If I had to pick one, either Wiz 7 or Wiz 8
I've been on a nostalgic kick and fired up Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant a few days ago, and Darian's writing progress went out the window, ditto a bug-hunting run of IWD2 for the new npc mod over at Gibberlings. Wizardry is just an extreme old-school dungeon crawl. The best of its class, though. Between the games' immersive atmospheres, intriguing storylines, and oddball casts of races and classes, it wasn't until BG2 that I was pulled away. And even then, Wizardry wins when you're just in the mood for (admittedly hard) dungeon crawls. A few other hallmarks of the series:
1. Faerie ninjas. Yes, you read that right. And the best weapon in both Crusaders and Wiz 8 was only usable by that specific race/class combination. Cane of Corpus, how I love thee...
2. Elves and hobbits with rocket launchers and phasers. And it actually makes sense in the game. Sort of.
3. Psychic wookies. Also known as the Mook.
4. All of the above, happily coexisting in worlds of magic, fighting dragons, finding cosmic artifacts, and plowing through the Dark Savant's legion of cyborgs and robots.
Sirtech, rest in peace. You've drained enough of my life spending hours in the Hall of Gorrors, hoping for that perfect combination of murmasa blade and mantis armor. After spending two weeks trying to figure out how to kill the Beast of a Thousand Eyes.

1. It's a turn-based game. The world is a grid, and combat is somewhat slow-paced. Getting around the world will also take a while-there are a couple of one-way teleporters in the world, but you'll be piking it on foot for the most part.
2. Good luck digging up a manual-an online strategy guide might be a better choice. You'll need one-there's a dozen or so races and about as many classes. Not just your standard ones, either. Lots of oddballs like Dracons (half-dragons, can breathe acid at will), Mook (psychic wookies), Faeries, and Rawulves and Felpurr (anthropomorphic dogs and cats). Class lineup's a bit odd, too, including all the western rpg staples, plus samurai, monks, ninjas, an a couple more odd ones, like the psionic and bishop.
3. This game is absolutely enormous. You will not finish it in a couple of weeks. You'll be lucky to finish it in a year, first time through. Maybe two years if you refuse to look up any hints to some of the [devious] puzzles. I'm not exaggerating much. Enter Guardia, and you'll wonder how the hell it could all fit on two floppies. Don't worry too much about wandering in places too high-level for your party. You'll know these places when your party gets wiped out in the first round.
4. It's also a pretty hard game, to be honest. Some of the game's major encounters are borderline insane (Spot, I'm lookin at you). A hell of a lot of fun, though.
5. All that said, it's also an incredibly fun game if you like massive dungeon crawls, tough puzzles, and a fascinating storyline.
