Would it be safe if I play the game using BGT-Weidu, without any modifications, get to where i want to go and do what I want to do, then uninstall the mod, install the other mods (such as DSotSC) and play the game where I left off?

No. It's impossible.

Hm, forgot to add that I would be reinstalling the BGT-weidu thing (following that installation list). If it's still impossible after that, when I guess I'll have to go through the game again... not like that's a bad thing, heh.

Your savegames will be safe only if you will install the same mods versions and in the same order. Otherwise you could encounter different kinds of problems, from minor (like messed texts) to major (like total incompatibility with CTDs etc.).

It depends on what you want to add - I suppose it might be possible for several mods - but I always think it is tricky to uninstall and reinstall big mods - f.e. don't forget to restore the dialog.tlk manually.

I am sure it will not work however with big modds that add changes to the worldmap (like TDD, SOS, DSOTSC(?), BONEHILL,...) as your worldmap is saved in the savegame and thus your game won't take the changes into account.

Of course small mods (NPCs, most tweaks, etc.), which do not change the worldmap, should always be installed after BGT-weidu, so an uninstall will not be necessary - so I can't think of a good reason for doing what you want to do.

For BGT-WeiDU in particular, the only mods that should be installed before it are Baldurdash-WeiDU, TDD-WeiDU, SoS-WeiDU, TS-BP, and/or NeJ2. Therefore, if you plan to slap things on top later, your base installation must have what you want from the list I just provided if you want your savegame to be preserved. If you do do it like this, all the other mods that are generally installed after BGT-WeiDU can be installed later.

So in essence, you are really just installing none or more of those mods I just listed, then BGT-WeiDU, then Yacomo's Worldmap, then the fixes for the mods I just listed (if applicable). Then play the game up to the transition. At the transition, you can slap anything else on top without problems.
