Kagain-related dialogues

I picked up Kagain in Beregost and in order to do so I had to drop Xzar/Monty. I know that Xzar/Monty come and go together but what' I found interesting was that when I chose to remove Monty it triggered a dialogue between Imoen and Khalid.

I had to reload for some reason and again dropped Monty with the same result (Imoen/Khalid dialogue) so I don't think it's a coincidence.

I had to reload a third time and this time happened to remove Xzar and it triggered a strange dialogue between Jaheira and Kagain in which she accuses him of dragging the party on a quest to find his caravan and then demonstrating a lackadaisical attitude (well, something to that effect). This is a dialogue I would have expected at the end of Kagain's caravan quest so it must be a bug.

It's just a bid odd but doesn't cause any gameplay issues so I continued and we found the caravan at which point Kagain started running around in circles. I know that this is a known bug but I have BG1NPC4BGT installed... was it not fixed in that? I did manage to get around it by dropping Kagain and then picking him up immediately at which point he talks about having found the boy's body and being a marked man. Only problem is that you don't get any reward (gold/XP) for having done the quest.

As I said, this is not really a problem but thought I'd mention it in case the dialogue issue was not known.

Erm, well, both BGT Tweak pack and BG1NPCBGT attempt to 'complete' the Kagain quest. I wouldn't install the 'Finishable Kagain caravan' quest component if you intended to use BG1NPCBGT.

I think the dropping Monty/Xzar thing is just a coincidence; someone's banter time probably ran out just after you dropped him. If you don't drop Monty/Xzar and wait say for an hour, does a banter start?

Problem sorted... I uninstalled the "Finishable Kagain caravan quest" component and that worked. Dropping Monty/Xzar doesn't trigger any dialogue or banter (I've waited several hours) and Kagain's quest seems to conclude with him saying he's had enough of searching for the caravan.

Sounds good. I don't know exactly how the Kagain caravan quest works in BG1NPCBGT, but the son of Entar Silvershield might pop up a little later.
