This is a particular little fun rping feature I'm quite fond of in certain other BGII NPC forums, so I thought I'd give it a go to give you a small taste of it in this one and want to see where it goes to give those who care to get a little feel for Brythe's personality. Please note like in the Brythe FAQ, I have to be rather discretionary with *how* I answer with regards to keeping the larger part of the mod under wraps, so please expect if you ask certain questions, I will be notoriously vague. However, feel free, here, to ask your questions to Brythe, the character, directly on this thread. :)

Kae: Hey Brythe, uhm, nice to meet you.

First, do you have any qualms about good and evil?

Do you ever comb your hair?

Do people ever comment on your appearance?

Are you scarred from the decades and decades of imprisonment?

Exactly how old ARE you?

Any family/friends nearby that you know of?

Coffee or Tea?

Silver: Greetings... I suppose I should say it's a pleasure to meet you Brythe... but I'll skip that for now.
What's your race? Human I presume, but what about your age then? Are you fully/partly/becoming undead or are you one already, hm? How would you describe a turnip? That's all for now, and that last question came from Jan Jansen, he's a gnome.

Kae: Hey Brythe, uhm, nice to meet you.

......
......! ...you're actually talking to me. Sorry, I'm generally not accustomed to that sort of directness. I suppose, as generally should be expected, I accept the acknowledgement of being noticed....has etiquette changed? I've sort of been out ot the loop for...awhile.

First, do you have any qualms about good and evil?

...I think I would have been more inclined to think about those things the first twenty years. Given my past affairs, at least for me, I'd have to say it depends on what kind of day I'm having. Generally, though, I don't think I care much.

Do you ever comb your hair?

I use every gold coin I earn just keeping warm, keeping my blades sharp and enough food to survive on. Where I come from, a comb is a bit of a luxury, thank you very much....then again, where I come from, BREAD is a luxury...

Do people ever comment on your appearance?

...I really can't say. Those who aren't doing their best to flee under the assumption they've just walked past a plague victim seem to do their best to divert their eyes when conversing with me. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the years in a damp and total darkness probably haven't been kind to me.

Are you scarred from the decades and decades of imprisonment?

...scarred? You mean, the condition of my physical appearance, as you seem to be so apt to point out, or deeper within? ...I don't know. This...all of this, after so many years in there. In a way, everything outside of those walls still seems like some kind of sick dream that I can't wake up from.

*smiles sweetly* If I pretend to be Neutral and then in Hell my alignment will change, will you comment it somehow or even leave?

You're going to Hell? What a strange endeavor. Is it a nice place down there? Do they already have my reservation handy?

While I don't understand what you mean by 'neutral' and 'alignment', I don't turn my back on promises. But my promises don't come easily.

Exactly how old ARE you?

...it's a question you sort of lose down there. I was told I was down in that place around 63 years...if I can recall in any sort of terms, I think I was in my mid-twenties around the original incident...so essentially, I'd say, it doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

Any family/friends nearby that you know of?

Oh, there might be a niece or nephew somewhere down in Tethyr, but something gives me the distinct feeling the polite thing to do would be to stay away. I have no idea about my parents or my siblings...by this time, most of them are probably long gone. Meh.

Coffee or Tea?

...what in the name of Mystra is coffee? Tea isn't bad though...I really can't remember what it tasted like, though. Does it taste like stale water? Cause I've had plenty of that....it's really...stale.

Silver: Greetings... I suppose I should say it's a pleasure to meet you Brythe... but I'll skip that for now.
What's your race? Human I presume, but what about your age then? Are you fully/partly/becoming undead or are you one already, hm? How would you describe a turnip? That's all for now, and that last question came from Jan Jansen, he's a gnome.

...why is everybody interested in me all of a sudden? Look, I haven't killed someone since...oh, right. Nevermind.

What race am I? Despite the ghostly appearance of my flesh, which some weird elf told me has something to do with the lack of pigment in my skin due to the lack of sunlight...whatever the heck that means, I'm a human. Human. Human from Tethyr. Human WITHOUT the plague! It's the pigmentation, dammit!

As mentioned earlier, I really have no idea how old I'm supposed to be. I suppose, skin condition aside, I look a lot younger than I should. It really makes a lot less sense the more I talk about it...

Undead? Do I look undead to you? ....don't answer that. It's the pigmentation again! But I breathe. I stare at you, I walk in a clumsily uncoordinated manner. I am as human and alive as can be...for a guy who's been in dungeon since Tyr knows how long.

...my father raised turnips as one of the vegetables in his fields. I hate turnips. Maybe it's just the Tethyrian strain, but...why the hell am I talking about turnips, anyway? Meh.

If you had to choose between massacring the people of Athkatla and eating cake, which would you choose?

If you were faced with a gnome who was very fond of turnips, would you pretend to like them under any circumstance?

How come you never start a conversation?

If you had to choose between massacring the people of Athkatla and eating cake, which would you choose?

I think there's a variety of factors to consider here. The first factor is if you, <CHARNAME>, asked me to massacre the people of Athkatla or if you asked me to eat cake. I would do both with equal joy at your command. If you want to know which of the two I'd personally choose, I have no preference, as I am an extension of your desire as per our agreement. The second factor to consider is the fact that I'm hungry cause I'm talking about cake so much. Where is this cake and how may I eat it?

Do you enjoy reading? How do you feel about nicknames? Will you respond to Brye or Rye-rye or whatever else <CHARNAME> wants to call you? Have you ever had a lover? ^_^

Do you enjoy reading?

...wow. I mean, geez, it's been so damn long since I even read anything other than feeling the scratches on the side of the cell I was in...I seem to remember a long, long time ago I read a few things in my travels. I'm not fantastic, but...eh, I get by. It's not my passion, if that's what you mean. But I can get lost in a good book...I really think I liked the legends about brave warriors and soldiers. I have a thing for history, too. Not so much reading it, but hearing about it. And...I'm going to stop talking now, because the whole 'creepy intimidating guy' image is slowly dying as I keep speaking...and...yeah.

...well, again, the whole killing thing does sort of balance that out, I 'spect.

How do you feel about nicknames? Will you respond to Brye or Rye-rye or whatever else <CHARNAME> wants to call you?

Er...um...*twitches*...if it is <CHARNAME'S> wish that I have a nickname or pet name, it is their wish. I don't go back on my promises. His/her word is my only law. If they want me to be Rye-rye...um...then I'll be Rye-rye. But they are the *ONLY* one allowed...unless, per say, they say other people can call me that...*sighs*...I should have thought this one out better...at least they're not asking me to wear a bunny suit...WHY DID I MENTION THAT? YAAR!...so...um, I suppose the answer is yes, if they want to.

Have you ever had a lover?

...I.......it...erm....

...a long time ago. It is one of those things that is best left forgotten...

Do you have hobbies (apart of reading), or you're not allowed to have fun without someone telling you first?  :P

You're more of sweet food or salty food?

You like dogs? Cats? Possums?

How it felt being forgotten in a damn prission for so long? I would be offended, honestly.

What was your adress again? *Tries not to sound too suspicious*

...I'll tell you anything you ask me to tell you, <CHARNAME>, as long as it doesn't broach that one subject. Hobbies...I really don't remember much of what I used to like back in the day. I sort of enjoy daylight now, if that counts. In that completely windowless black dungeon I was in the ceilings were so short I couldn't even stand up all the way. I worked my ass off to exercise all the time, day in and day out, just to keep my muscles from atrophying. I don't know why I was so driven to stay in shape all those years...I guess in the back of my mind in the beginning I felt I needed to have a purpose or a use in case I ever got out, and then after the years it just sort of became habit. To be honest, completely truthful...I would have rather died starved and well-built than starved and atrophied. You never know if you're going to need those muscles in Hell.

You're more of sweet food or salty food?

The only thing I had in the dungeon was stale bread and stale water. I have tasted those two things for so long I even prefer POISONOUS to stale.

You like dogs? Cats? Possums?

Possums! I remember possums! The animals that play...dead...right? We share something in common! They play dead, and I LOOK dead! Ha! A funny! I'll bet you didn't think I had that in me!...so I'm going to have to go with cats.

How it felt being forgotten in a damn prission for so long? I would be offended, honestly.

...to be forgotten is a hell much deeper than death can ever give you.

What was your adress again? *Tries not to sound too suspicious*

Bottom of a now-leveled rotting damp cesspool of a Tethyrian dungeon with no light and terrible smells, third door from right down the hall.

Brythe, thus far you seem to have said you would do whatever <CHARNAME> would tell you to do, down to even saying you would do what <CHARNAME> told you to do when you had been asked what you would prefer. My first question is, what would you do if I ordered you to do whatever the hell you wanted to do?

Second question, what is your favorite color?

Third question, if confronted with a a black kitten with an obsession with a blue feather on a stick, and said blue feather on a stick was in your hand, what would you choose to do without <CHARNAMES> direction?

And finally, if <CHARNAME> ordered you to bathe regularly, would you do so?

My first question is, what would you do if I ordered you to do whatever the hell you wanted to do?

...if you don't tell me whatever the hell it is I'm supposed to do, I'm sort of a little lost on the subject. I suppose I would remain inert on the subject, follow you around and keep up the basic functions to survive, thus being available in case you did decide to give me an order, until you told me to do otherwise. You do remember our agreement, do you not <CHARNAME>? I made you the offer to begin with because you gave me the impression you could make some sort of use of me. My role in this party is not one of the thinker. I've done plenty of it over the years and I can no longer handle the responsibility. I put myself in the the role of an extension of your will. Use me, please. Or simply ask me to kill myself, which I will do with equal joy. Just don't leave me alone...again...for no reason or no choices...

...not...again...

Second question, what is your favorite color?

...................this is really hard.

...You know, I've seen darkness for so long I genuinely appreciate even grays and browns more. Having light illuminate anything is just...it wasn't supposed to happen. And it did. And now I'm seeing something as simple as color again after so long. I guess all color has its merit. It must be really lame in the Underdark...everyone can look like a plague victim and who can tell?

...whaddya mean drow have nightvision?!?

Third question, if confronted with a a black kitten with an obsession with a blue feather on a stick, and said blue feather on a stick was in your hand, what would you choose to do without <CHARNAMES> direction?

I love kittens! They just sort of bat things around and recline in the sunlight with that devil may care attitude. Devils actually probably care a lot more about me. You know, cause I'm going to Hell and all.

...I would probably keep the kitten if you wanted me to and let it play with the blue feather all it wanted. Kittens and cats deserve happiness.

...actually, I wouldn't mind playing around with a blue feather. You know, because they float kind of funny on the way down to the ground. It's sort of like a really weak wind spell.

.......what?

And finally, if <CHARNAME> ordered you to bathe regularly, would you do so?

AS YOU WISH! *leaps into local Athkatlan fountain*

... well, that was amusing. I will have to try that too some other time. Heh.

I have a couple of other questions for you, if you don't mind. Forgive me for our last conversation, I was teasing you more that I should. I will not mention possums in future exchanges.

The first is, what is your greatest fear? By now I can say that is not death, something that norm--, uh, most people dread. So what it is? Oblivion? Pain? ... Loneliness?

And the second is quite simple, really. Were you happy in your youth, before... that happened? Were you happy being a farmer, or you had more ambition than that?

... well, that was amusing. I will have to try that too some other time. Heh.

Why am I getting this feeling this is going to be a very, very long day?

I have a couple of other questions for you, if you don't mind. Forgive me for our last conversation, I was teasing you more that I should. I will not mention possums in future exchanges.

It's all right, really. I have a lot of admiration for dead things. What I mean to say is things that aren't dead but like to pretend to be dead. Because possums are pretending to be dead and not really dead. Well unless they're actually dead in which case they actually are dead possums and aren't pretending. I mean, I'm not saying I'd like to pretend to be dead, even though my skin makes me look that way. Okay, all I'm trying to say is, at least being dead means you don't have to pretend you're dead.

...I have absolutely no idea what the hell I'm talking about anymore...

...Hell. Do you think possums pretend to play dead in Hell?

The first is, what is your greatest fear? By now I can say that is not death, something that norm--, uh, most people dread. So what it is? Oblivion? Pain? ... Loneliness?

To be forgotten as if I never existed at all. That's worse than dead. That's worthless.

And the second is quite simple, really. Were you happy in your youth, before... that happened? Were you happy being a farmer, or you had more ambition than that?

Sure! I'm fairly foggy on specifics but I remember the gist of things. I was happy. Things weren't great as I wasn't going to inherit my father's farm, so I went and worked at the local garrison for awhile. Things didn't go so well after awhile in Saradush, though...so, I took up adventuring instead!

Yes, I was an adventurer, much like yourself, decades before you ever came out of the cradle. Surprised?

Yeah, a little, since i'm an elf, if you haven't noticed the pointed ears by now...
And. Right. Elves. No problem with that, I hope?...

And... Uh-huh. What about mages?
Hey, don't give me that look, i'm asking nicely. And don't you even try and give that damn 'nothing's worse than a mass-murderer' reply!

Okay... so, now the thing.
