Today I reinstalled Baldurs Gate II SoA - in the same folder as before (too lazy to check if all links are ok)

First, I re-installed all my mods (Solaufein, Kelsey, Chloe, BanterPack, QuestPack, ItemUpgrade), then de-installed Chloe

still, she is at chateau irenicus, together with a stone golem and two shadow thieves, just standing around.

Since I was an Evil Pc, I killed her for an exp boost (boo me :(, but a male evil half-orc aint really chloe's dream)

Alas, why is that? I mean, why is Chloe still there? Shouldn't she be gone with her two cronies and that mean golem?

When you uninstall BG2 its good practice to delete the left over folders because there are files still in there, override is a good example. You had Chloe installed which means she was in your override folder. You uninstalled the game but it wont delete what it didnt put in the override so, Chloe is still there. When you attempted to uninstall Chloe your weidu.log was probably not there anymore so your install of Chloe, although successful, failed and she was still left in the override.

confusing aint it.

long story short: uninstall BG2 and remove the remaining folders in your BG2 directory.

I can't say I'm still current on Weidu, but unless some uninstall issues have changed, you usually have to uninstall mods in the reverse order of how you installed them... so if you did the mods in the order above, for example, you'd have to uninstall ItemUpgrade, QuestPack, BanterPack, THEN Chloe... then reinstall the three above except for Chloe. Also, if you started a game THEN uninstalled Chloe, she'd still be there even if the dialogues and such associated with her were no longer present.

I have a version of the uninstall problem, in which Chloe herself is uninstalled, but her main-floor changes remain. That is, the ItemIsNotThere, or what that trigger was called (Air statuette), the door to the pocket plane is open... but when I enter, I find myself in an empty cutscene. No golem, no thieves, and no way out of the cutscene apart from killing the game. I thought that could be because Chloe modified the area script (start cutscene, etc) upon installing, but didn't restore the backup when uninstalling. It's a bit annoying, since it prevents you from getting the genie/djinni bit and some mephit xp, but I can live with it.

this is not a problem with chloe, it's a limitation of the game engine, and the way it saves areas in yr saved game: if you uninstall a mod, you have to go back to a save before you entered the changed areas for the unistallation to show up. obviously, given that chloe changes the opening area, you have to start a new game to fully revert yr install.

Well, that's a given. What I'm saying is that even starting a new game has Chloe's empty cutscene hindering my progress airwards. Not that I necessarily blame her (it could be some other mod messing with stuff), but since it was her stuff that didn't uninstall properly I naturally jumped to conclusions.

[Edit: this is in answer to seanas, of course, not some underhanded Rowena-replying.]
