Is there any special item that you'd like to bring with you into BG2 and which doesn't appear there?

Not in BGT, but people are probably thinking more about SoBH, DSotSC, and NTotSC.

I would suggest that only items from the original BG be allowed and items from other mods such as SoBH, DSotSC and NTotSC be left out, that way SoA wont get too rediculously easy if you have the tweak installed. It makes sense that some items be made available.

Makes sense to me. Do you agree with Vlad's list? If not, what sorts of items are you expecting to find ported over to SoA besides the ones already implemented in ZETA: Golden Pantaloons, Koveras' Ring of Protection, Moonblade, The Claw of Kazgaroth, The Horn of Kazgaroth, Protector of the Second +2, Plate Mail +1, Missile Attraction +2, Chain Mail +3, Mithril Chain Mail +4, Scimitar +3 Frostbrand, Scimitar +5 Defender?

Definitely do not bring over any DS/NT items! Several of them are just way too overpowered. If you found them with a dragon or something that may make sense but not in Jon's dungeon. BoneHill items were added with the assumption that you will not see them again until SoA. If I thought you would keep them forever, I would have to see about removing some. The only thing you keep right now are memorized spells.

I think (IMHO) that Vlad's list and what you added covers the most important stuff found. I would exclude the Frostbrand and Defender tho because they exist in SoA already and are special items not like a +2 Cloak of Protection.

I would just stick with whatever the original SOA allows you to port over. Maybe add some other ones but it would be a tweak.

I my not be the normal player I like the DSotSC/NTotSC items, but some I think are over powered for BG1. I put these in my bag of holding to wait for later in the game. I like the idea of putting the stuff in a dragon horde, lets put them with the red dragon in the Watcher's Keep. You would have to fight your way though Watcher's Keep just to get to the dragon and add one of Horred scripts, this would make sure you are high enough level. Only the stuff you had at the end of BG1. The tweak componate could be callled 'Find DSotSC/NTotSC items with dragons'. Then players run around killing dragons! :P

Currently, I have only stuck with the items that are normally ported if you import a character into SoA. The Frostbrand and Defender is actually an oversight by me, so I'll fix that up.

For the other items you mention, I'll make a tweak called something like 'Import more items into Shadows of Amn'.

Is it possible to create bag of holding with limited space (6-8 items) which would allow to transfer some items to Irenicus Dungeon?...or perhaps somewhere else...IMHO number of items MUST be limited...and CHARNAME can't start in dungeon having all uber weapons on him...

Well, in my opinion, if you don't want CHARNAME to be uber in Shadows of Amn, don't even install the component. It is now implemented, and there is also an explicit warning that it can be considered a cheat.

Tweak pack translation is easier by a factor of about the size of Jupiter...there aren't a million journal entries! :D

Yeah...I know that...other thing-the quest part of tweak pack is translated already...because it was integrated in 99b4...and as u know I operate at that version :P So there will be even less text to translate :]

We have such a bag in NeJ2. It's called "Yeti Pelt Bag" (for 40 items only). :)
Also if you give a file name to this bag and attach it to the store file with the very same name all items you put in that bag will stay inside whenever you drop it and wherever you pick it up again. Bags are arrays in terms of programming languages.

Items are overpowered? Will the game be easy when you can take items? I dont think so. Is anyone played the game at insane level without Debugmode? I dont think it is logical when playing the game at novice level and saying it is easy.

hehe..sadun..have u ever played BG2 with tactics and improved battles at insane? I think it is much harder than pure BG2...but still u don't need stronger weapons than those standard BG2...transfering items from BG1 make a game LOTS easier at the beginning...and if we're talking about DSotSC/SoBH/NTotSC items it also make a game easy even in the middle of game.
However-that is a tweak-u don't need to install it if u don't want to...

Purists will say too easy at CORE RULES (however it is Bioware-adjusted...).

Based on the discussion with Promilus in another thread and kind suggestion of J Beau I made the tweak so in the end of BG1 before leaving Thieves Guild you may buy vouchers from Lily with only about 20-30% dividents and sell them in Athkatla to one of the Black Market merchants WITH NO DIVIDENTS AND NO DEPRECIATION!

While an interesting idea, this tweak in its current form has two plausibility issues:
  • The Thieves' Guild is arguably the last place one would expect to find a "credit note" service given that trustworthiness is critical to such an enterprise (who would wish to honour such a letter given that there is "no honour among thieves"?).
  • The reference to Atkatla by Black Lily is a "fourth-wall breaker" - the player should have no idea that they will be going there.
However the merchant guilds/costers in Baldur's Gate would almost surely have a letter-of-credit service so being able to purchase these items there ("widely honoured across the Realms, easier to carry and harder to steal than gold!") instead would make sense and a discount could be given for PCs who helped Aldeth Sashenstar against the druids, with a larger one if they resolved his problem with the Seven Suns Coster.

Of course, these letters could not just be cashed in at Athkatla - the PCs would have to find a merchant guild representative who may then need to verify their claim. This process could take a while (a week or fortnight perhaps?) giving the PCs an incentive to do some questing rather than just relying on their BG1 gold to buy the favour of the Shadow Thieves.

Finally this could be expanded to item storage. Some items could be "stored" with a coster in BG1 and returned in BG2 after a delay also (to account for shipping by merchant caravan) making them available only after the initial stages of the game. Some "choice" items (i.e. anything not scripted) could still end up being lost en route - due to bandit attack on the caravan, theft by mages from Thay/Halruaa (possibly leading to a quest to retrieve them?) or even being impounded by order of the Council of Six ("why would unlicenced adventurers be shipping magical contraband?").

This is a quick tweak of mine to transfer my money from BG1 to BG2. My English also could be better... So if you wish to write all this as a *plausible* mini-quest you're most welcome. The only idea that you'll have two connected merchants (the first one - in BG1, and the second one - in BG2).

Meanwhile I introduce four following containers to the merchant located near entrance to Durlag's Tower (I simply tired to run and empty my inventory which grows extremely fast in Durlag's Tower):

Small Ammo Belt:

This shoulder belt is ideally suited for holding sling bullets, darts, arrows or bolts.

STATISTICS:

Capacity: 600 sling bullets, darts, arrows or bolts in total
Weight: 2

Small Holding Bag:

A common cloth sack of about 1 feet by 3 feet in size and of limited capacity.

STATISTICS:

Capacity: 20 items (stackable or not)
Weight: 5

Small Potion Bag:

Typically carried by traveling healers, this small leather case folds open and allows the user to strap delicate potion bottles to its cushioned side with numerous leather thongs for safe storage during travel. Regardless of how many potions are contained in this case, it always weighs the same amount.

STATISTICS:

Capacity: 30 bottles
Weight: 2

Scroll Case:

This sturdy tubular container allows many scrolls to be placed in it, safe from exposure to fire, rain, or lightning -- common hazards faced by any adventuring wizard.

STATISTICS:

Capacity: 40 scrolls
Weight: 2

Also I didn't found the original (and my favourite) Flame Sword +2 in a secret place on the roof near basilisks, but instead there was some poor scimitar which nobody needs in my party. So I've made a new long sword +2 (predecessor of The Answerer +4 found in ToB):

The Answerer +2

The last swing of a battle is more important than the first. Such is the philosophy embodied in this powerful weapon. Although the strange design of The Answerer makes it difficult to take the initiative in combat, with each hit it makes an opponent more vulnerable to subsequent attacks.

STATISTICS:

Each hit lowers opponents' Magic Resistance by 5%
Each hit applies a penalty of -1 to opponents' AC

THAC0: +2 bonus
Damage: 1D8 + 2
Damage type: slashing
Weight: 2
Speed Factor: 9
Proficiency Type: Long Sword
Type: 1-handed
Requires: 6 Strength
Not Usable By:
Druid
Cleric
Mage
Beast Master
