Hehheh. I have dismissed this game from my mind for so long that I had forgotten it entirely... when it was on the market, I wasn't really interested, playing BGs and all that. Then it went out of stock, totally infuriating. Now, I'm getting the Planescape: Torment & Soulbringer package next week, apparently they have managed to get some more of those. So. I'm going to have a new game for Christmas after all. Exciting, since I know it's a quality one as well. Gotta go check out those mods!

Actually, there aren't many (finished) PST mods that I know of. There's one item pack, I think. The game's pretty good, though ;).

Yeah, I've noticed that the modding side has been a little quiet. Although I've got what it has to offer, I'm missing the Restoration Pack from www.planescape-vengeance.net, as the site seems to be down at the moment.

A smaaal, non-spoilerish nag, if I may: whatever happens, do not get any tutorials (it is addictive) and don't interrupt your first run (first game->first finale).

Not yet, it's supposed to arrive tomorrow according to the store. :) Playing it will be a nice reward for me, as I passed my Swedish test... why do we have to have two official languages here anyway... heh.

I passed my Swedish test

So you're tri-lingual? That puts 98% of the rest of us to complete shame.

I enyoyed it immensely. The only thing that marginally bugged me (no spoiler!) is that the screen resolution is fixed at 640x480. Well, it is a very early version of the IE after all....

Heh heh. It's capped at 640x480? Crappo. Well, you can't get everything... :)

Yeah, I'm sure of it. Although it seems I will have to wait until next week... damn shipping delays...grr. <_<
EDIT: GRR!! I have no idea where the fucking game is now... maybe it's coming... or maybe it's on the bottom of the North Atlantic.

Heh, this surely took some time... I got a used copy today for a bit over 11 euros. I've installed all the mods, fixes and patches, and now I'm ready to start Planescape: Torment for the first time. I think it's ridiculous I haven't played it before since I've played all other Black Isle games... well, it was hard to get a copy. :)

And besides, I think you people would trade with me if you could forget you ever played the game... ;)

I wouldn't bother with mods on the first run through. There really aren't any good ones available and the game is great as is.

The engine is insanely hard to work with, hence the lack of mods.

Anyway, have fun playing the greatest game that ever excisted! ;)

Yeah, I guess they'd all fall in the category of 'returning lost content and fixing existing content'. I didn't really like any of those new items, so I just put back what was supposed to be there IMO. Although I do like the small tweak mod Cities Explored (I've always hated Fog of War). :)

Just started with Planescape as well. Found a copy somewhere on the other side of the world somehow. I'm now trying to determine the best stats at character generation.

Max wisdom. Nothing else matters.

Plus decent intelligence. Even as a fighter, put most of your points into wisdom and intelligence.

Charisma is neat too, but can be raised later on (you get a stat-point extra each level) Plus either dex or strength if you want to be a thief or fighter respectively.

I do not agree with Rastor.

Wisdom and Charisma, and to some extent intelligence, will greatly enhance what you get out of the game.

I played through as fighter with 10 Wisdom, Charisma and Intelligence, and found it to be a fantastic game. Then I played as a mage focusing on the aforementioned stats, and suddenly I found out I never knew how fantastic the game had been.

Wisdom is easily the most important one though.

All of them are important, but the mental scores (int, wis, cha) are significantly more useful for most characters. You should have points enough for everything by the middle of the game however.

If you want to unlock ALL content, you need mental scores of at least 24, 24 and 24.

So the points will be tight :)

The other scores are required for a few things as well. I skimped on dexterity the last time I played through, so wasn't able to get all of the paranoid incarnations memories.

What exactly do you need a 24 charisma for? I think was able to convince TTO to merge with me with a 19.

Anyway, last time I finished the game my character had four 25s, a 19, and a 10.
